Some photos from another attempt to getting the Sunset Valley save going.  I tried with a saved porter with the full family but it had the Hightower brothers and son in it and they actually corrupted the save so I had to abandon the save and not use that particular porter option.  So I opted for an expanded version of Sunset Valley with more lots and options to start a new save.  It’s really nice and runs pretty smooth.  I had to manually age up all the kids and add all the extra family members but this time the game didn’t recognize them as related.  I honestly don’t feel like messing around with family trees and said “ “f*ck it” and kept moving forward.  Other than that...things are looking good for the Kimura clan. 

The family wants to spend more time with Artyom but he’s either asleep or at work and the kids are starting to roll sad little wishes for getting “Daddy’s attention”.  At one point I caught Alyonna going into the bedroom and sit by the bed and play while Artyom slept after she rolled the wish.  It was an “aww” moment but kind of sad too.  Ivan wants his attention too so I had Artyom play chess with him and Alyonna walked up and took Ivan’s chair and played instead.  Ivan just stood there and watched.  I felt bad for him so I had him exercise with the television, might as well skill up with something.  I think I am going to age up Ivan and Alyonna since in the original save, they would be teenagers by now.  I kind of feel like getting their relationships with their dad a little better before I do it since they want it.

Cassie has a job now, the game keeps assigning her a job as a professional athlete.  I let her keep it this time since they have a life style to keep up. 

The house I chose for them to live in is super nice.  I love it, especially since it came with furniture that I really like and didn’t have to switch out.  I changed a few things, added several bunk-beds, added some color and skill/fun items plus a couple “all in one” bathrooms since there were only two toilets and it just wasn’t working.  I am going to save the house to my library just in case.

In my head with this save(head canon): Artyom had to relocate the family due to “work issues”.  He wasn’t happy about it but it could have been worse if he stayed.  He decided he wanted decorate the home and decided to hang some paintings he had in storage depicting people that he used to know, including his father-who he refuses to talk about.  Cassie wondered why he would hang the paintings based on what Artyom had mentioned before. The kids were excited to find out who the people were and tried to get stories about their grandfather at first but Artyom would get angry and leave the house.  Cassie has forbidden the children to ask questions about the paintings.  She knew from what Artyom had mentioned before the move is that he and his father didn’t see “eye to eye” and that he “didn’t care about ‘him’”.  Cassie knows that’s not true judging by his behavior.  In fact, Artyom does care but he is having issues with that fact.  He hasn’t spoken to his father in years and refuses to.  Artyom wants to be a better father figure than he felt his father was to him but he sees himself doing the exact same things as his father did and it’s freaking him out.  He refuses to talk about it and he refuses to take the paintings down because “then ‘he’ would win”.  He just wants to feel “normal” again.  Cassie is becoming concerned because she can seen his distress and she can also see how the children are reacting to their father’s inner turmoil.  She just doesn’t know what to do to help him.  She wanted to take the paintings down but Artyom flipped out and forbade it.  She just wishes things were like they were before the move.  She wishes her mom and dad were closer but she can’t contact them, her dad always knew what to do.  *little drama there in my pixelated doll house*

Just a couple screen shots from playing around in the rebooted reboot of Sunset Valley.  I guess I will be rebooting it again but if it means the game will be stable then it’s worth the effort.  Weird buggy stuff but not as bad as Adventureland but I want something that doesn’t create doppelgangers or have everyone freeze while their needs plummet.  I have to cheat their needs up until they unstick.  Super annoying. Okay...time to head to work!

Opened up my Sunset Valley save because I missed the family.  The game was running SOOOOOPER slow and way laggy.  It was irritating.  I took out the extra NRaas story progression mods (criminals/tarts).  I like them but I think this save is just too big to handle them.  I lowered the old age in the hopes to kick off a couple seniors.  Only one died.  :-\.  What the hell. I’m going to have to cull the population a bit, I believe.  I know having a big household doesn’t help matters.  

The favorite son, Victor aged up and he’s already dominating wishes from his father.  Eris is second favorite.  Cassie’s favorite child so far is Ivan.  He’s kind of mine too.  He’s just so cute.  In my Bridgeport save, I have the large Kimura family living there and Ivan is always berating and verbally schooling everyone.  He is not to be pushed around.  I don’t know how it will all play out in this save, but he will have some role.  Alyona and Eris will probably lock horns because I have plans or traits non-flirty, serious vs flirty, party animal.  Ares will end up being his sister’s lap dog/lacky.  I don’t see Apollo or Artemis being big players, but I have been proven wrong before by the game

Artyom: Can’t you wait till evening at least!?

Sadie: FINE!

Sadie’s aging got stuck so I had to force it. I think it had something to do wit her being in werewolf form. And of course it had to be full moon..

Teen Sadie gets along with Artyom really well. I’m thinking pups when she grows up. ;)
