World's Fattest Boy Who Topped 190Kg Loses Title And Almost Half His Weight

The world’s fattest boy in Indonesia who weighed 180kg at age 10 is now 12-year-old and has not only lost his title of ‘world’s fattest boy’ but, almost half of his body weight.

Arya Permana who is from Karawang in West Java, Indonesia was morbidly obese, he used to weigh six times the weight of boys his own age. He had difficulties walking more than five minutes at a time and spent most of his days eating and lying down.

In April, Arya shed half of his body weight after undergoing a life-saving five-hour gastric sleeve operation, making his the youngest person to undergo the surgery. The operation is to stop him from eating himself to near-death. Pictured after the weight loss below..

The surgery involved doctors from the Omni Hospital in Jakarta removing a large portion of his stomach. Now, the former Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) – the country’s version of Guinness World Records – named Arya as the heaviest boy on record can now return to school, after losing enough weight to enable him to walk and perform activities boys his age performs, including playing soccer, tennis and badminton with friends.

Arya is delighted with his weight loss and is encouraged to even lose more. He aims at losing another 50kg.
