this actually goes for a lot of the members, but since gran’s fighting style is self-taught, i think it would be really cute if they picked up others styles….but especially katalina’s since shes 1) the first person they meet and probably notices that Let’s Teach You The Basics Actually?? What Do You Mean The Book Said This You Are Doing It Wrong 2) literally studied in albion 3) is also the main crew chara with some kinda Sword. and while its not grans sword of choice its still close enough compared to the rests…guns and magic.

so i just think its endearing if some of grans moves & stances starts to resembles katalinas,,,regardless if all of them are taught or not, but just cuz they fight so much together. so katalina being grans sparring-partner of choice even after they recruit more sword-users is….very…sweet.. even more if someone were to comment on it like :( i think?? thatd be really cute

also the line in the anime, where aaron’s dad asks katalina to look after gran? and then calling herself grans ‘guardian of sorts’ after the battle with tiamat? i think the first thing has gran more focused on aaron’s dad acting like their dad (which they’re v flustered but also happy about, it’s that feeling of being cared for), but the second time it’s a bigger realization that ‘oh shit whats this about’. like they’re not necessarily going to think of katalina as a mom since their age diff aint That big (even if gran, honestly, probably sees katalina as OLD when they first meet cuz teenagers DO that), but i do believe that with time they unconsciously start seeing katalina as some kinda motherly guardian? like they weren’t planning to have someone new care about them like that, but they definitely enjoy the feeling, even if they don’t 100% Understand it at first.

im gonna be real with u chief. but grans gonna be really awkward around katalina for a few days after crying in front of her. that night after it happens, theyre gonna stare at the ceiling and itll hit them that Fk I Broke Down In Front Of Someone????????????????? and its gonna be WEIRD for them and theyre 0 good at hiding things so its gonna be OBVIOUS, but once they’ve gotten past that stage & sorted out their feelings that hey maybe it wasnt that bad that katalina knows all of that. gran is very honest & obvious with their feelings, but they also bottle up everything bad so it’s very rare they actually talk about things they feel bad about, so it’s gonna be a WEIRD experience. but i think that + that meme u sent where katalinas says she doesnt wanna be alone, also brings them a lot closer???? like………..these are two of the main quest ppl who almost nvr speaks of their feelings, like i felt like the most emotional primal-bonding thing was eugen & ios too? UH SIDENOTE BUT WHY IS A MAJORITY OF MAIN QUEST CREW “DONT WANNA BE ALONE” ON DIFFERENT SCALES/REASONS

so like. it might take TIME before they can talk about that stuff, but i feel like itd….do both of them so much good??? so even if grans a bit Off around her for some days, once they’ve settled on that its a positive thing i’d like to think that they have a bit easier to speak their mind with katalina.

ykno...theres...amber run’s i found that has a lyric line that goes ‘and i’ll use you as a warning sign, so i don’t lose sight of what i want’ and i feel like thats....incredibly fitting....as tragic as it would be :’)

gran wouldn’t be proud of that feeling, but djeeta would be a harsh reminder of what they want & what they don’t want. and gran never wants to lose themself to that point of losing all control like djeeta has, nor do they want to be so scared of their own dad that those feelings intense for them too. it’s a wake-up call? in the worst possible sense? that the infinite question of ‘what if he hates me’ became so big that djeeta became like that.

it doesn’t ease gran’s own pain on the matter, even less since its an arc3 concept too wASNT It for that one delicious line that we both hate!!! but it forces them to refocus on what they are feeling and actually try to deal with it.

at the same time, the entire premise for that entire skin is getting the weapons powered up, and it’s going to force gran to think twice before power. if power turns you into such suffering, is it really worth it? (and one day, the answer might be yes.)

that coupled with violet knight’s speech about how it’s the people with power who are the ones to make decisions is definitely going to force them to think more about what it means to have power, and the dangers of it, and how gran wants to approach it.

but gran also very much wants to help her through this, that’s their nature, they’re always going to want to help people. but it’s very possible that they won’t be able to. they’ll still try, but since their issues are almost...very much the same i think gran of anyone is gonna struggle with it? it’s like looking into a mirror. not knowing where to start because gran doesn’t know where to start with themself. ofc mayhaps thats why needed too!! the words that they want to hear could very well be words that would help her and gran.

but i imagine their entire relation would be painful?? since djeeta is an image of laying all of their issues bare while gran is still keeping it together (& doesnt like ppl knowing their feelings).

I DO THINK ITD ALSO BE VERY INTERESTING....if...gran has never met belial? if wmtsb as a whole was something djeeta dealt with, if grans singularity term was something they only heard of in edgelands and thus just plain out have no idea what it means. so djeeta will ask about it when they meet possibly and gran just has NO IDEA what she’s talking about & is a lot more shaken about the aspect of meeting her.
