Is anyone from ASBH trans?
All and none of the demons and angels are and are not trans, and what I mean by that is that they don’t really “do gender” the same way our society does. Man and woman, masculinity and femininity, androgyny, she/he/they, these are the trappings of an aesthetic to them. Being a man is the same as being a goth.
They also aren’t technically speaking English so the pronouns they use are just an approximation. When they speak other languages with other cultures, they usually just let the native speakers assign them whatever pronouns and gender they want, because the angles and demons Simply Do Not Care.
There are demons and angels who get hardcore into gender aesthetics (the same way people get into aesthetics in real life) but on the whole their society doesn’t care that much. Rune is referred to as she/her simply because that’s the most straight forward way to refer to her in human terms, and I’m writing for other humans, so 🤷♀️
Also, angels and demons learn about genitalia before theirs even develop (they don’t start forming until they hit puberty, and it’s a slow process) and they can choose to grow whichever they want. And that isn’t a permanent decision, it takes some time but they are able to change their genitals (and their appearance in general). The only members of their society who can change their junk on the fly are succubi, or people who have learned enough sex magic to be able to do that. I guess shape shifters could as well, but that’s also an advanced technique
Anyways thank you for giving me the excuse to yap about my world building :D and for those who are curious, ASBH will return someday, it’s in the process of a lengthy overhaul and rewrite! I realized the scope of the story is much much larger than is practical so I’m trying to split it up into manageable chunks, while also trying to cut down on some of the extraneous details. Thanks for your patience 💖 there will be some comics from me to enjoy in the meantime, coming very very soon in fact 👀
Tthe main reason I couldn’t do comics is due to mental and physical health reasons. However, I’ve been putting a LOT of effort into healing and have been actually doing pretty well lately. Excited to share my stories with everyone when I’m ready 🥰
