#BookReview #Spoliers I read this book for a prompt #ABookWithAnAsexualMainCharacter for #BookRiotReadHarder2022 Let's Talk About Love by Claire Kann ultimately frustrated me. I was excited to read a book with an asexual character, but the more I listened to the book, the more I disliked Alice. I know she was only 19, but she was frustratingly immature, and her personality involved squeeing over cute things, watching Netflix, and pathologically avoiding conflict. Takumi was supposed to be this super-hot love interest, but I found him one-dimensional at best. Ryan is pretty much the only redeeming character in the book, and I think I even like Feenie more than Alice and Feenie is problematic, to say the least. I will give the book a few points for nice references like their cat being named Glorificus (Yay Buffy reference). But even the epilog had me like, "ugh, this relationship isn't gonna last yall suck." Maybe check out another book for quality Ace representation. 2.5/5 #AsexualRomance #interracialrelationship #AliceIsMessy #Frustration #Underwhelmed #YA #audiobook #LibbyApp #readingprompts #20BooksByBlackWomen #ReadingChallenges #nerdymamabooks #booknerd #blackgirlsreadbookstoo #bookstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CZXmzOAPSqa/?utm_medium=tumblr
