A little shadow marched up to the podium with his head held high. It was a little out of character how he moved. The typically carefree shadow was never this serious. Under his arm was something shiny, but hard to make out. An instrument of some sort? Something like a trumpet, but far simpler in design. That and it had clearly seen better days, like it was taken from a dumpster. Shadow turned on the ball of his feet before placing the mouthpiece over his lips in a single, fluid motion. The audience stared in hushed silence, wondering what he would do. The tension crumbled however when he played a single, blaring note. It was quite possibly the most dreadful sound ever. The little shadow couldn’t help but melt into a fit of laughter as he lowered his instrument.
“You guys should have seen the look on your faces! I got you good!” Shadow snickered, a wide grin lightening his otherwise grim appearance. “Anyways, hey guys! My name’s Shadow. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m a shadow, one of Link. Oh but uh… Don’t worry too much about that. I know Link and I didn’t get along all that great at first, but trust me when I say we’re over that now. It’s thanks to Princess Zelda that he and I are actually really good friends! It’s a good thing she was able to talk it out or else we’d be fighting for ages. And the best part? Now we’re prank buddies, all of us! And I’m making more and more friends, too. So it’s not as lonely as it used to be anymore.”
Shadow spread his arms out in excitement, practically bouncing on his toes.
“It’s loads of fun. Every day we both dish out or worst and see who goes on top. I think I’m getting better and better at it every day. But the more time goes on the more creative I have to get. I’m still waiting for today’s prank to play out. Between you and me, I ate the milk pudding the Blacksmith’s wife made for Link and replaced it with mayonnaise. He’s probably going to kill me this time, but it’s worth it to see the look on his face.”
His enthusiasm began to mellow out as he held his banged up instrument in both hands, a bright smile still plastered across his face.
“Anyways, I think that’s all I can say about me. I’m gonna head back home. But you guys should visit anyways. Maybe we can team up and combine our prank skills to make the ultimate prank!”
