Music Wednesdays — I won't disguise my love for people showing off all manner of recorded sound—especially when its done intelligently, with humour, or in a way that uncovers something you didn't quite see the first time. ashelf, whose blog we've been following for some time (and has provided me endless hours of entertainment manipulating and sampling the odd cutouts of audio from film and radio that he often posts (and the .gifs are often classic). 

Lucky for us,Radio Zinhum is the audio outlet. It feels like an odd collage, a sort of imaginary radio station that quickly seems materialise at various points between 1950 and the present day. It's sometimes nostalgic (obviously from the usually classic samples he pulls), sometimes quite humorous in the juxtaposition of music and speech, and always a pleasure to listen to and get lost in. Musical gems are plentiful within.

I have to admit I've been keeping all this to myself for some time, but now is not the time to be selfish. Here are some samples of the June and July editions of Radio Zinhum:

Thankfully, there's over an hour more of content on the ashelf SoundCloud page. The April, Test 2, and Test 3 editions of Radio Zinhum are all thumbs up material. (The last of which I'm listening to right now.)
