Hubert stood in front of Byleth’s desk at the conclusion of class, having removed himself from Edelgard’s side for once. It was a rare occasion, one he could not see himself indulging in for far too long. However, he needed to speak with the new professor and Edelgard had business to attend to regarding her inevitable revolt against the church.
“A word, if you may.”
He’d taken the time to analyze Byleth from the moment she’d entered the monastery, but she was... A difficult case to read. While she had chosen to lead their class, Hubert could not allow his guard to falter, as it was possible she’d blindly chosen an available class. Not to any fault of her own, he assumed, but he could not allow her to get in the way of his or Lady Edelgard’s preparations...
