okay, so I haven't played black eagles yet: tell me about caspar/linhardt

there’s so many fucking layers to it honestly

1) caspar and linhardt are childhood friends who know each other very well and have a bit of a rivalry going. most of the black eagles actually don’t know each other very well or have only heard of one another conceptually, and you have outliers like dorothea to add to that. meanwhile caspar and linhardt know each other really well, their dads are infamously always at each other’s throats (military affairs minister vs. internal affairs minister iirc) and their c support literally consists of them arguing over whose dad would win in a fight. they have a lot of history and a lot of knowledge of how one another tick and it’s great to have a ship with that weight behind it

2) once the war starts you have both of them coping with it depending on what side of it they’re on. are they going against their families or are they fighting for the empire? how do they feel about it? they both have conflicting feelings about what’s happening, especially seeing as caspar is “canonically” a fighter on the front lines and linhardt is “canonically” a healer in the back ranks. that’s another layer of it, healer patching up his stupid reckless buddy

3) caspar is a complete fucking moron who asks linhardt if piss is really stored in the balls and linhardt, a full on morosexual, sighs and begins to take his shirt off

Aaa! Hence the checkboxes :b I went into a liiiiiittle bit of detail on some of them on twitter but I’m not logged in atm and can’t remember my password, but kinkwise:

Nature preserve: herm!Hal, semen collection, artificial insemination, eggnancy, and he ends up fucking Dirk towards the end. Also gets poisoned via illegal river chemical waste dumping and gets nursed back to health.

Dragonrider: Jake thinks Dirk is female, Dirk knows this and refuses to come out of dragon form. Dirk is also notorious for killing potential riders but for some reason (lmao) is very docile with Jake. Probably involves dragonxhuman sex.

Dead Space: Based on the first game in the series. Jake arrives with Jane and Roxy to repair the USG Ishimura, and Dirk is (apparently) the only survivor of the original crew (spoiler: this is inspired by Nicole’s character and the cosmic spider from LDaR’s BtAR but without the VR thing). Also there’s vore.

Bayonetta: A!Dave is very unpopular with the other sages and hires an umbra witch as a live-in bodyguard. I’ve taken some creative liberties Re: Jeanne’s mind control from the first game - there’s unintentional mind control sex magic involved. Dirk tries to do his job and has a Hard time not giving into it.

Demonstuck: Dirk falls from the heavens and seems injured/comatose. Jake has a demon on his couch for several weeks. Some minor demon!Dave/John on the sidelines if it goes far enough. Also vaguely inspired by Constantine Re: thwarting an end-of-the-world threat.

Crossdangered: Ever wondered how Hal and AR get together? They’re the final component of the Dirk/AR/D1/Hal quadsome to tie the poly knot. Spoiler: Hal’s a masochist and AR is a sadist = match made in gory heaven.

Literally like.......sometime it feels like the writers think that they have to write totally depressing things...........like Homestuck is a sentient being and there is no choice?? I love treating Homestuck as such but please......it’s a work of fiction you can sprinkle in a bit of hope and positivity lmao...........

mmm I remember autostraddle doing an article about representation in homestuck right after the comic ended and it just felt like grasping for straws when they mentioned like how a lot of people headcanon roxy as trans based on something hussie said about the beta kids and chromosomes (I'm sure you know what I mean) it's like... yeah... but how is that representation when it's never addressed in any way in the comic itself?

exactly like i love meta and shit as much as the next guy but like it’s honestly exhausting seeing people hold homestuck up as the holy grail of canon queer character representation when there straight up is NONE. there is none. there is a bar so low that an ant would brush its antennae trying to go under and homestuck still fails to reach even that.

hussie had so, so, so many chances during the comic to even have one character say the words ‘i’m gay’ but not a single one did. gay was used as an insult and a joke and later as an awkward bush to beat around but not once ever in all of homestuck does a character freely and openly admit to same-sex attraction* or gender non-conformity.

*dirk strider, of course, a gay man who only loves men to the point that it affects his only 3 relationships in the entire world, STILL treats the words ‘i’m gay’ as if they’re somehow demeaning and beneath him and refuses to say them, falling instead back on that old tired bisexual-on-tv trope- he doesn’t like labels.

anyways, here are some actually canonically queer teens being indisputably queer for the whole world to see just so y’all can see that it is actually possible to have teens say they’re queer without like, destroying your comic or something.
