What The Rain Hid || Dell & Soldier

A bit of more context of this scene:

This takes place in Demo's house, they're all having a sleepover there. By this time, Soldier has already ran away from home and stayed at Demo's place (to protect him from his father). In this period of time, Soldier doesn't want to go out that much because of paranoia and skepticism, so all of his friends gather at Demo's place and even have sleepovers. This warm yet funny scene has more depth considering this all takes place in a time where Engie puts his feelings aside to focus on Soldier's well-being. They grow closer, and in this sleepover Soldier wants to go out and feel the rain in the middle of the night, the only one awake was Engie and he goes with him (concerned). They have a sweet yet fun moment running in the rain and thus, this scene happens.

Side note: Soldier calls everyone by code names since he's really bad with names, and also, none of them know Soldier's real name.

He does actually! And he plays an important role in Soldier's life when he was a couple of years younger!

Neither Soldier nor Merasmus know each other's real name, it wasn't necessary. They met when they both were around 11 yrs old, Soldier needed a place to rest after getting locked out of his home for the 100th time, that night was a stormy one so he ran to find somewhere to stay. He found a treehouse and decided to pass the night there, the next day, Soldier overslept because of his injuries, and that morning, Merasmus went inside that tree house, meeting Soldier.

At first he did want to kick him out but he was a lonely kid with no friends so he made a deal, he could crash in his "realm" if he played with him. Soldier accepted. From that moment they became friends.

Their friendship is like canon tf2, a really exotic one to say the least. Soldier dragged a baby raccoon one day and took care of it, Merasmus didn't like the idea but discussing with him was like talking to a wall so, whatever.

At age 15, Merasmus had to move away to another city, he said his goodbyes to Soldier and told him to take care of his castle. But, Soldier was devastated to see him gone, it didn't feel the same, so, he turned it into a raccoon sanctuary.

He had feelings for Soldier, but oh boy how he hated him too. He does appear again in the future (at 17 yrs old).
