An entry for a DA contest held by AshesDrawn. This was a fun challenge.
This small dragon's bizarre migration pattern has been the subject of much scrutiny over the years. Subject to the harshest of environments, its physiology has developed to withstand extreme temperatures across the spectrum. The scale-like 'heat sinks' along its body can be raised to absorb heat, and folded flat against its body during extreme cold to allow for continued muscular function. It is primarily a glider, expending little energy on staying aloft and more on controlling its trajectory in violent solar winds. The white 'rays' on the dragon's hide are believed to develop as it ages, likely in response to environmental stresses.
The dragon seems flighty and temperamental by nature, and tends to cancel interviews at the last minute.
