Oh shit !  Pepper looked blankly down towards the little pink plus sign; her mind running at high speeds to process what exactly she was seeing. It wasn’t any cheap three dollar pregnancy test, she had sprung for the good stuff  ---  or as good as a home test could be without actually submitting herself for a medical examination. Somehow she felt her potential new addition was not a high priority for the medical services right now; and asking FRIDAY to complete a medical scan was too risky. Tony had wanted this once, the day she thought she lost him he had practically begged her for this. So much had changed in two months; Tony’s health was far from optimal from his ordeal. Stress; that was the only thing she felt at the sight of her test result. 

So much so that Pepper hadn’t realised just how long she’d been in the bathroom until a knock at the door startled her.  “ Uh... occupied. Just a minute. ”  she called out weakly, quickly snatching the test up, along with it’s box and hiding it behind her makeup storage.

“  i  don’t  think  we  should  do  this  anymore.  “  it’s  clear  to  what  he’s  referring.  bruce  can’t  look  at  him  because  if  he  does,  he  knows  he’ll  cave,  walk  back  into  tony’s  arms  &  never  leave.  he’s  been  so  selfish.  tony’s  life  could  be  over  in  seconds  if  he  lost  control.
