Powerhouse Divas Comedy Jam & After Party celebrates beloved Bay Area personality, Comedienne Queenie TT's up-coming lymphedema nodule removal surgery, Saturday, May 31st at the Pacific Pinball Museum 1510 Webster Street in Alameda. The show starts at 8 PM.
Lymphedema is the build-up of fluid in soft body tissues whe...n the lymph system is damaged or blocked. The lymph system is a network of lymph vessels, tissues, and organs that carry lymph throughout the body. Lymphedema occurs when lymph is not able to flow through the body the way that it should and often causes severe swelling in the limbs.
A staunch believer that laughter is healing, Queenie nick-named the lymphedema nodule: a large mass prominent on her left leg weighing approximately 50 pounds, "The Oompa Loompa!" Queenie has lost over 200 pounds, preparing her mind, body, and spirit to receive this highly invasive yet life-changing procedure. The lymphedema nodule removal surgery is scheduled June 19, 2014.
The comedy show and "Good-Bye Oompa Loompa" after party features an all-female line up of comedians: Nina G, Lavon Godfrey, Ashley Linder, Kelly O'Kelly with host Bryant Hicks and headliner, Queenie TT. The after party will include snacks, pinball play, and dancing with DJ DAREWON.
