The view from Ashley Hill overbridge. The signal in the distance stands at the approximate site of Ashley Hill Junction, where the Midland line to Kingswood Junction and thence Mangotsfield diverged. Despite a new signalbox being provided there in 1959, the junction was removed in 1965 and the signalbox closed in 1966 with the line being singled around 1970.
