Please, correct me if I am wrong... Would Asmodeus in a way be Lilith's son? They say in many places that he was the son of Samael (Poison of God) who had many children with Lilith. They say his son was Asmodai. (And seems related or close to Asmodeus) And being the demon who represents Lust, being the son of Lilith. OR is it jsut a coincidence that their names are close.

Asmodai is the Iranian spelling/pronunciation of Asmodeus. there is UPT (unverified personal theory) that they are different, but texts regard them as the same.

Samael and Lilith having children is pretty much only considered when the First Wife story is considered truth, which it is not. so that’s not really a thing. it is widely shared theory among modern occultists, though. just not Jewish. Though it is Kabbalistic, considering they do accept the First Wife story as truth.

finally, Sariel (the other name for the child of Samael and Lilith) seems to be a strictly Kabbalistic and Hebrew Gnostic belief. the idea of Sariel being Asmodeus also seems to exist in only one source that I can see, and it’s an encyclopedia source. so I’d consider that dubious.

does that cover enough to make some sense?

I've been reading a lot of the resources today and have gotten super confused about something. Is Asmodee an alternative spelling of Asmoday, or are they different entities?

just about every source out there will tell you they’re either the exact same demon, or that Asmodeus is one of the heads of Asmoday. either pretty much works out, though.

Hello, I was wondering if I might be able to get Asmoday's help in punishing a criminal who got away from a particularly heinous crime.

I mean, maybe. I don’t know if Asmoday is the best demon for the job, but I don’t see why you couldn’t do that. I’d say Andromalius is a much better choice, as he has the ability to “punish all Thieves and other Wicked People”.

I would also suggest things like the police before pulling out the sumoning circle, since they are decidedly more physical beings and can usually do pretty long lasting damage, such as throwing the criminal in jail and being tried for their crimes.

Someone gave me a blessing with a sigil and a spell in latin and afterwards told me that I'm being blessed by Asmodeus eternally and I don't know what to expect or how to be on good terms. Do you have any advice?

uhhhh punch that person in their face? they sound like an asshole. unsolicited blessings, especially from like one of the most notoriously ornery demons sounds like a pretty shitty thing to do without warning someone. ew.

but I do very little with Ashmodai for the above reason: not my type. I’d suggest doing a lot of reading on him, and seeing if you want to continue the relationship someone else decided to start for you. if not, do a banishing. we’ve got a post up on him over on the demons page as well for a head start.

Hi, I'm really interested in demons that have a lot of history to them and actual accounts of them in ancient books, like really old books in hebrew language. I really want to look up one that is real, and yeah i do believe demons are real but not really to much knowledge on them as you could tell. If you can, one that uh... Could be conjured up? And dont worry ,im not at all gonna try to a stupid thing just really really curious about this.

many of them went nameless, as they were described mostly as just spirits who did things we did not enjoy. we can retroactively name the events as done by demons, but we can never be completely sure.

I'd probably say that entities like Asmodeus/Asmodai/Asmoday probably have some of the biggest roots in hebrew literature. would I suggest you summon him? clearly others have, so it's not like he's off limits. but I, personally, do not suggest summoning Asmodai unless you are very well protected and understand the situation. he is definitely portrayed as one of the more dangerous entities to handle.

Hello again! Okay, so I am a demonaltry noob. Out of the sweet list of book resources you offer, what one(s) should I read to familirize myself with Asmodai? (The art strategy worked by the way. I wrote down what I wanted to work with him on and drew a picture of him in his lecherous aspect. He has alerted me that he will appear as an "attractive older whore" but, I think, is waiting for me to READ DEMON THINGS.)

first and foremost, the Asmoday Demon-A-Day. this contains information from the Lesser Key, the Luciferian Goetia, and the Daemonolatry Goetia. just a nice place where all that info is summed up.

And then here are a whole lot of other sources:

Psuedomonarchia Daemonum (warning for tough to read language. may help to just ctrl+f “Asmoday”)

these would be all the best places to hit, and then I’d browse along for little sources: poetry, fictional works, and so on. but hopefully this gives you a good running start!

I literally took the most neutral stance humanly possible on that ask and the first thing I get is that I'm invalidating practices, can't prove my own practice, and that I'm a bitter cunt.

though I am legitimately confused as to where the issue was at all. I said that people who affiliate with nv tend to have a modern take on their practice. that's literally what I said. I didn't even say it was a bad thing, the anon themselves said something to that degree.

I've seen about four people who are demonologists/demonolators/demon-workers/etc who are traditional, and that includes Alex and me. which isn't a bad thing, but I don't really have other, traditional demon workers to recommend people to, especially when they're asking for a specific entity that I have no personal experience with, only textual experience. I've seen maybe three or four people pop up who work with Ashmodai, and they are all in some way affiliated to nv. I didn't say that was a bad thing, I said that may mean they have a more modern slant.

so really, where exactly did I trip everyone off?
