i'm fucking in love with your changeling concept. i can't really explain why, but it just like, hits me on a personal level. what do parents do when they realize their kid's a changeling?

it depends on the parent! Some accept it and continue to raise them as they normally would...it is technically the same kid they’ve been raising all along anyway, and theyre not THAT different...really....aaaandd sooome don’t take it well at all. depending where you go, there’s still a lot of...misgivings and superstitions about changelings, and some ppl (like sams mom) will blame this poor kid for EVERYTHING..like a walking beacon of bad luck. 

husband dies? changelings fault. lost her job? changelings fault. the crops are dying and the stock market is crashing? changeling did it.soo it all depends on what kind of person the parent is and where they are...I’d say the good reactions outweigh the bad reactions, in this setting...but still

During dom battles like this, I'm always trying to figure out the best time to auction off dragons I've been saving up just to try to make the most treasure. Do you (or other followers) think it's best to start auctioning early in the week or later? Or in the middle? I can't get a feel for when the prices tend to peak.

It varies from fight to fight, but later is generally better.

Hi! Love the blog and I'll def be submit stuff. Not sure what you're looking for in a comod. I currently mod a few trans related community blogs (nbselfielove, transmasculineselfielove, fuckyeahmonsterenbies) and my strengths are in managing a queue up to keep content flowing and handling critical or shitty asks with aplomb. I'm a less good at creating FAQs and other things people put in the sidebar (i get to them eventually). I don't work, so I dedicate a couple hours every day to blog modding.

did you mean to reblog that panopticon post uncritically? There's a lot that should be said about call out culture, but... saying it with posts that use a made up scenario isn't helpful and in this case appears to be more about fear mongering than anything else.

Oh dear, I’m having a crappy language day. I only vaguely remembered having read a post with the word “panopticon” in it, so I just went back and re-read it. I think I didn’t mean to re-blog it, but I do agree with one part where they said:“Make one well-connected enemy? Snap. You’re problematic. Your life is ruined.”This happened to me. 

Well, not the part about my life being ruined, but this one person in question has damaged *several* people’s reputations by her toxic gossip and in all cases for no good reason (it wasn’t because any of us actually did anything malicious to her). And most of us are afraid to name names because she’s so well known and well connected.

But her behaviors also damaging to the overall disability rights activism community because in attacking each of us, she has succeeded in alienating some of us from wanting to continue to do this work, or in some cases made it impossible for us to continue to do this work because others think we’re evil forever without questioning whether her claims about any of us are even true.

Yes, like most people I know, I have made mistakes, and I’m continuing to work on overcoming those problematic behaviors. However not with the person I’m talking about. The only thing I did in her case was gently call her out for the way she was treating someone else. For that, I was evil forever.

I've been reading a lot of the resources today and have gotten super confused about something. Is Asmodee an alternative spelling of Asmoday, or are they different entities?

just about every source out there will tell you they’re either the exact same demon, or that Asmodeus is one of the heads of Asmoday. either pretty much works out, though.

Due to allergies, I can't use sage or incense. So far I haven't been able to find any suggestions for acceptable substitutes. Have you ever heard of any?

Depends on what you’re going to use it for? Like, do you mean for meditation purposes? Or psychological cues? Or for banishing, cleansing?

For meditation etc, try oils maybe? Like, if you usually use sandalwood incense, they make sandalwood oil, and so forth. You just gotta dig.

Or if you’re cleansing, instead of blowing smoke all over the place try a wash, and wash down the walls and floors and all of the thresholds/windowsills.

It’s honestly not hard to find equivalents to most things once you get down to it. You really just have to figure out what exactly it is you’re looking for (smell? heat? elemental association, fire, air? cleanliness? focus? olfactory cues?).
