bull cares about children so much. like in his dialogue with dorian he SPECIFICALLY mentions tevinters killing children as like, the WORST thing they can do. bull loves protect people, and taking care of them, and he’s funny and smart and understands people and their needs, even the little ones.

but he’d be so scared of it??? like he’s so afraid of not being able to control himself???? especially around his loved ones??????? and now here’s a baby. the most fragile, special thing in the world, and he’s never cared about anything more, and nothing’s ever been more important to him, and he loves them so fully and so completely honestly and--how can he protect them from himself, when he’s supposed to be protecting them? he’s a killer and a snake and a mindless weapon. but he loves them so much.

and he doesn’t understand how to love children, or how to take care of them as a man or as himself. he’s not a tamassran. he thinks it’s unnatural by default. this isn’t the way things are supposed to be, but it feels so right and so good to hold them in his arms and.

i’m sorry i just have a lot of feels. the point is, they are indeed, the best.
