The ashtagging tag is so off the wall
ashtagging replied to your post “Pardon my ignorance, but who is Stephen Harper? What did he do?”
wow, i didn't know about any of this. we don't really hear a whole lot (read: nothing) about what's going on in canada in the US- or at least as far as i know. that's some bullshit... damn.
If you want to know more feel free to follow my Canadian politics blog: allthecanadianpolitics
I'm not surprised. Even in Canada a lot of people aren't aware that this is going on. I'm tired of this BS. Thankfully there is an election in 2015, and I really, really hope we can finally rid ourselves of this terrible man and his backwards political party.
Becklespinax altispinax
By Calum O’Halloran at @ridiculouslyphotogenicsinosaurus
Name: Becklespinax altispinax
Name Meaning: Beckle's spine high spine
First Described: 1991
Described By: Olshevsky
Classification: Dinosauria, Theropoda, Neotheropoda, Averostra, Tetanurae, Orionides, Avetheropoda, Carnosauria
Becklespinax is yet another in the slew of dinosaurs that was originally described as Megalosaurus, as its remains were originally found in the 1850s. It was from the Valanginian stage of the Early Cretaceous, about 133 million years ago. It was found in Sussex, England, and is our first Carnosaur - the group of large predatory, stereotypical theropods that are the final offshoot before the especially bird like dinosaurs, the coelurosaurus. Becklespinax began its scientific existence as a second species of Altispinax, which was originally called Megalosaurus, and was known from three vertebrae characterized by high neural spines. However, given that there are only three spines, it's hard to figure out what the exact shape of this predator was, whether it had a very large spine like Spinosaurus, a smaller one like Acrocanthosaurus, or a small hump like Concavenator. One of the three spines was shorter, however, than the other two. These spines actually influenced Megalosaurus to once be rendered with long neural spines, which has since been abandoned as a representation. It might be a basal carnosaur or more closely related to Allosaurus. Either way, it was probably around 8 meters long and a fairly large, terrifying predator, despite its name.
