where: Bertram’s flat who: Bertram Aubrey and Ashton Richardson ( @ashton-richardson )
Just have it in your home, his manager said. You’d look more personable, he said.
Bertram made a mental note to never schedule an interview in his home again. It wasn’t impossible. Actually, far from it. In theory, it should be the most convenient thing for him. He didn’t have to apparate or Floo anywhere. Therefore, he wouldn’t need any retouches as he’ll just look the way he did when the interviewer arrives.
Everything should have been smooth sailing. Except, Bertram spent the entire morning overthinking. Should he move some of the furniture around? Move some of Dirk’s stuff? Something told him that Dirk might not like that, but what if they ask for him to move it? Should he? These questions raged on his head as he tried to tidy up the place even though it was never dirty in the first place.
He was almost grateful when the doorbell rang. At least now, there was literally nothing more he could do and the interviewer will have to take in his abode as it was. Bertram was sure that the interview couldn’t possibly be more dreadful than the waiting.
“Hello!” he greeted the person on the other side of the door. “Are you from the WWN? Please come in.” As he ushered the man inside, his pet cat who apparently managed to escape his cage and greet the stranger with a tiny meow. “Come here, Ting.” He picked his cat with one hand before showing the man in. “Would you like some tea, coffee, a drink?”
