Ashton Irwin- The Proposal
Ashton had been gone for two and a half months now. I was beginning to get really restless at night as I hadn’t had a proper conversation with him in so long. But I was always updated with what he was doing with text messages, calls, tweets and his funny little keeks that he was always posting. I was so happy that he was living his dream but I wanted him to be a part of my life forever, with his cute grin and gorgeous dimples.
Suddenly a notification popped up on my phone, indicating that 5SOS had posted a new keek.
I opened up keek and pressed play.
“Hi guys!” Ashton’s face appeared, making me smile. “This one’s going to be a little different because it’s a special message that I need to give to Y/N back home.” Confusion washed over me.
“Hey, Y/N,” he continued “I need you to go outside right now because there is a taxi waiting there. Don’t ask him where he’s taking you, just go, trust me please. Okay, I love you, bye!”
I was so confused, why would Ashton want me to get into a random taxi? He’s on tour; I could see that from the keek, so where on earth would I ever need to be.
Reluctantly, I went outside to find a taxi parked at the bottom of my drive. I locked my house and got into the taxi, not asking where we were going. Just letting the driver drive.
Soon we got to a grand hotel, which had beautiful windows that covered multiple floors and was surrounded by beautiful flowers.
“You’re supposed to go in; I’ve been told to tell you.” The taxi driver said.
“Do I need to pay you?” I enquired.
“No, that was already taken care of.”
“Oh…” I hopped out of the taxi and walked up to the hotel doors where I was met by a receptionist.
“Hi Y/N!” She excitedly waved at me. Was I the only person who had no idea what was going on?
“Hi…” I replied, unsettled in the confusion surrounding me.
The receptionist grabbed my arm and hurriedly escorted me into a large auditorium-like room.
“What’s-" I began to ask the receptionist what was happening but she interrupted me.
“Just go up on the stage.” She smiled before walking out.
I walked around to the bottom of the stage and slowly made my way up the steps. In the centre of the platform there was a single chair, which I presumed I was supposed to sit on, which I did.
I heard footsteps behind me and Ashton appeared in a smart tuxedo. Unbelievable joy washed over me, my heart beat faster and I flung myself into my arms.
“What are you doing back?” I breathed.
“I came back early.” He said shakily.
“You did all this just to surprise me about the fact you were back?” I beamed up at him, how sweet was he?
“Not exactly.” He murmured, and suddenly anxiety took over my body. “That’s not why I brought you here…”
He’s going to break up with me. He’s found somebody else, and he’s leaving me. Like this.
Tears pricked at my eyes.
I sat back down in the chair and Ashton stood in front of me.
“I’ve been gone for a really long time now, Y/N…” he said quietly. I was going to break down. I could tell.
“Yeah.” I squeaked, barely audible.
“And I haven’t been able to see you every day like I want. We’re living apart and it’s hard upon our relationship. Really hard.” I pressed my lips together.
“We’ve been together for so long; I can no longer carry on doing this having you as just my girlfriend back home.” I squeezed my eyes together, that was all I needed to hear. He was done with me.
“Which is why,” he began again, “open your eyes Y/N, please…” he croaked. I slowly opened my eyelids and through my blurry vision I could see that he was down on one knee. My hand shot over my mouth as he pushed his hand into his pocket and pulled out a box. He opened the box to reveal the most beautiful ring. “This is why, Y/N, I’m asking you to seal us together, to make our bond permanent and share the rest of your life with me. I’m asking you to agree to me making you my wife. So, Y/N, what do you say? Will you marry me?”
