agatha’s face was set into a frown as her eyes scanned the booths, hands clenched tightly into fists as she watched people joyfully going around from one place to the next. “ugh.” she let out with a huff, shifting her weight from one foot to the other as her arms crossed over her chest. “this is ridiculous. the town should be mourning the death of a great man and instead they’re throwing a fucking party. I hope this shit show ends up in flames.”

Maybe there’s something extremely wrong with her, or perhaps it’s best to say that morbid curiosity has gotten the best of Minnie again. Whichever way you spin it, Minnie can’t help herself from sticking her nose in places it doesn’t belong. “I heard their necks were sliced from ear to ear.” She insists to the person she’s taken hostage in conversation. “Some are already saying it’s those bloodsuckers, but that’s not their style. You wanna know what I really think?” She quips, awaiting for the other to engage in her conspiracy talk.

       normally, she wouldn’t bother to stop and pick up something someone had accidentally dropped on the ground. however, this time, she does this for a single simple reason: curiosity. she’s curious as to what the object could be ( maybe it’s some shameful, little secret), and curious if the person is even going to notice  ---  she’s definitely not going to let them know, that’s for sure.

        charlotte is far from being the benevolent type, but sometimes she will do mildly nice things ( as long as she doesn’t have to sacrifice anything for it ). in this case, as she idles around this stupid carnival she was forced to by someone she owed a favor, she notices someone with a lipstick from her makeup brand in their hand. so, as one does, she decides this one is worthy of a small nice deed.  “ you’re about to step in melted nacho cheese, ”  she warns, devoid of any emotion.  “ just saying. ”

       even though, as a vampire, she definitely does not feel any actual physical fatigue, she does live for the dramatics. so, she finds some bench amid all this chaos, sinks down to it as if she’s getting dizzy, and clenches her fists in an attempt to control her own anger.  “ all gods have mercy, a snotty brat yelled right in my ear and i had to channel centuries of self control into not punting him into the sun. ”  whatever maternal instinct charlotte had once is definitely gone, that’s for sure.

      “ i’m dying to know, what exactly it is that’s so appealing about shoving a bunch of grease and sugar in your body? ”  charlotte watches in horror as cotton candy and a wide array of fried goods get shoveled down like it’s nothing. don’t humans already have ridiculously short lifespans that are so easy to shorten even more?

      it’s no secret that tensions have been high in ashwick ( church murders and all ), but apparently tensions are also high in households. there’s a couple that started arguing really loudly a couple minutes ago, right by a boba tea stand. at first, calliope was concerned, but as the fight went on and devolved into an exchange of really specific and odd insults, she started to be kind of ...  amused. there’s a point in which she yells at him that his dino pillow is stupid, and he shouts back that he never liked her cobb salad. a few seconds later, and they’re suddenly making up and making out, leaving together as if nothing happened. holding back a laugh, calliope turns toward the person next to her, who ought to have witnessed the same sight.  “ anything that happen at a carnival, huh? ”

     it’s really unlike calliope to not be mindful of the life expectancy of her phone battery. she’s taken so many pictures and recorded so many things so far that her phone is already dead  ---  just when she unfortunately really needs to get back to her school for something. she fruitlessly keeps trying the on button, pacing around as she helplessly stares at that dull, black screen. after eventually accepting defeat, she looks around and locks her gaze on the nearest person.  “ excuse me, ” she pries sheepishly,  “ do you maybe know where i could find some charging stations? if ...  there are any around here. ”
