Jay just kinda...looks at the corpse. Then at the detective. Then at the knife lodged into the mage's shoulder. The mage then shifts into his monstrous bird form, and growled at him.

Eyes widen briefly before he just sort of accepts it. Of course he’d come across one of the few other non humans around here.

A sigh escapes him and he just shakes his head. “Never mind. I can’t bring a bird monster into custody.” That’d do far more harm than good, especially when they were already losing their wits over the phantom thieves.

That knife though... he eyed the other for a moment, quickly putting the pieces together. “You know... if it was self defense you could have just said so. No need to growl, birdy.” a somewhat amused grin plays across his face, showing off fangs in a surprisingly authentic expression.

When Naoya said that, the mage looked shocked. He certainly was caught off guard.  "...I...I guess that it would be a shame if I didn't survive." He's...honestly unsure of how to respond.

“Exactly!” He grins. “Although I realize now that was probably a weird thing to say... eheh.” He scratched awkwardly at his cheek.

For being so intimidating, he's quite mellow… But when he does get mad, meditation is one of his go-to ways of getting himself back under control. Before, Dark Choco used to spar with his father's soldiers or destroy training dummies, but he's since refrained from doing so out of fear of his power.

Tea is also very nice! He likes bitter tea, which is a little rare outside of his homeland.
