4. do you like your name?

i don't like my birth name. i think it's dull and ive never felt any connection to it, not the long or short version of it. unfortunately bc there is a short version i never get any fun nicknames which used to upset me when i was younger. id still like a cool nickname, but the lack of one is less painful now.

ama is what i use online and i like it. amadeus is fun in a short of grieving victorian way and i think ama is both cute and gender neutral. it's hard to attach it to me tho. again, just feel somewhat disconnected from it? was hoping that once i sorted out the gender thing the name would come with it but now it looks like the gender thing might never happen and honestly ideal world for names is that every couple of years i pick a new one. i think it would be cool bc there's SO MANY names id like to try and it would separate my life into clear definable eras.

14. if you could live anywhere in the world, where and why?

ik this means geography but i seriously don't know. a nice quiet house with a balcony and a garden. within biking/long walking distance to an open green space like a field or a huge park or a forest, and within short walking distance to the ocean, close enough so that i can see it from my windows but not quite make out the waves. i grew up on the indian ocean and although i miss her, i remember the storms and don't need to put myself directly in her war path like that.

Smh it’s not “terf ideology” to say that only lesbians can identify as butch/femme because they’re LITERALLY terms that relate to ur identity/relationship roles regarding women’s attraction to women & non-availability to men. That’s it. They’re just lesbian terms. & they ABSOLUTELY are inclusive of trans women. Yes trans men are a historical grey area but that’s why it’s the LGBT community because our experiences are interconnected. That doesn’t mean trans men especially mlm can use them now.

Butch & femme are for lesbians! Lesbians can be trans women or nonbinary, historically some people identified as lesbians ‘ trans men, but THEYRE NOT FOR PEOPLE ATTRACTED TO MEN!

hello anon thank you for sending these and im sorry if i've upset you! i suppose i just have always seen the terms butch and femme as meaning 'queer person who presents masculine/feminine but isn't dressing to attract men regardless of their attraction to them' which i think is similar to what you're saying but not quite. currently i identify as bi so my opinion on the matter doesn't hold as much weight, but personally im very into celebrating the shared routes of sapphic culture and so sharing those words (but ONLY when a bi/pan women is dressing for men so like a bi woman in a relationship with another woman or wanting to attract other women could id as femme or butch if she chose?) felt like a natural extension of that especially since a lot of the wlw is created by and for lesbians with bi women as sort of more of an after thought - not that that's inherently a bad thing bc i understand that theses more lesbians active in the wlw community so like makes sense and i am understanding. so like the post i reblogged felt like an extension of that attitude taken to a more extreme, but i understand what you're saying and have taken it down! if you're happy to message me or reply I'm happy to talk further, like i am genuinely unsure on where i stand and really want to be respectful so i hope this response is okay?

77. do you miss anyone right now?

i miss everyone so much. we closed my school halfway through the school day on a random day with us only finding out that it was closed that lunch of that day and it's my last year before university so it really sucks that there was no goodbyes. im not saying that we should've waited bc obviously, corona virus is serious but i still miss everyone that i won't keep in touch with the most. my film teachers. the girls in art that would lend me their sharpeners. the people i sat with in math. the people who walked the same route home as me a couple minutes ahead or behind every day who i never spoke to. all the people i used to be friends with who i grew apart from who would still smile at me or say hello who now will scatter across the country. of course i miss my friends but god willing i'll arrange to see them again eventually, so like, right now im missing everyone else.

but oh to walk to the shops for lunch, hand tucked into my friend's arm or hand in hand, all huddled for warm and comfort, listening the rest of them joke. to give long obnoxious hugs to the friend i only saw once a week, like we had been parted for years. to knock shoulders with eachother in the corridors when we pass.

yeah i miss folks.

it's ah-ma like you're grandma!! it's short for amadeus and so it made sense to me to keep the ah sound!
