25. a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read

Inside of You by @crazy-ache which is her active/current WIP for Elucien. It's the Body Swap trope and it's SO GOOD. The comedy is amazing and she is really building the sexual tension of being in your reluctant mate's body haha.

For my friend @olenvasynyt her current Elucien WIP Fluttering Wings. She writes Elucien perfectly and their tension is so good. I also think everyone should read her Eris x Male OC fic The Place Where All Pain Meets. It's probably some of her best writing and she really writes the whole doomed, forbidden lovers so well.

Her fics are hidden for now but I really really love @itsblobross's House of Whispers Elucien WIP - where Elain follows a willow o' the wisp into Autumn and is taken prison by Beron. She left off where I just KNOW Lucien is about to find out and flip his shit and I'm waiting with bated breath. Everyone should read it when it comes back.

23. fics you wanted to write but didn’t

I started writing an Eris x Alexius Party Monster-Inspired AU where they are club kids in the early 1990s in NYC. Eris was going to be a veteran club kid called Lord Lace who takes naive Alexius under his mentorship. There was going to be lots of partying, drugs, sex, and max amounts of yearning. And very, very, very angsty. I ended up not writing it because it would have been a much larger project than I had time for and I'm afraid it's one of those likely only Amanda wants to read this haha.

bogleech & co are doing a fantastic job at tipping me from "neutral" to "proship" lol. you're genuinely making good points, and as someone with a psych degree and an interest in development and human sexuality, his views are naive at best and at worst dangerously reactionary and wildly ignorant of how human sexuality and development actually works. i personally find adult/minor shipping fancontent generally distasteful, but i've seen far more (graphic, untagged) discussion and sharing of that sort of thing from anti-aligned people than i have from people who create that sort of content, who generally are easy to avoid. and who i can always detect due to the large "no under 18s minors dont interact children begone" disclaimers practically flashing in neon in their bios.

Honestly, anon, I'm kind of blushing. I know I was kind of super pissed last night, so I'd acknowledge some of my arguing wasn't clean... but I was trying to argue against the things he was talking about and drag his complaining back to those original points.

So it's good to see those arguments made sense in the light of day, ha ha.

But yeah, you're in the same boat I was a few years ago, where I was neutral, and then people like bogleech and his followers made me realize that they just... have so many problems and weren't sincere. Especially with the way they treated actual CSA victims who didn't agree with them.

At least by avoiding the glaring neon signs for smut accounts, we know those warnings are doing their job. XD

Why have you avoided marrying? Haven't you met any suitable women? Isn't it your duty as king?

"My avoiding marriage has nothing to do with being unable to find suitable partners," he answers curtly.

Ames turns away and looks out over the water lapping at the shore. He often goes here to think. He is unhappy with the intrusion.

"My not marrying is a personal matter." His own self-inflicted punishment for past sins. "I'm aware of my duty to my people and the kingdom will not be left to crumble in my absence. They will endure. I will do what I can to ensure that they do."

Does being in Rouen make you happy or sad?

"There was a point in time where I preferred to not even think of Rouen. There are many memories tied to my home, some of which I wish not to recall. I suppose that means it would make me unhappy."

That was then, but things were somewhat different now. He was healing in his own slow way, and not he leaned more towards missing his home. He smiled at the thought of being there again.

"I love Rouen. It will always be my home. It's where I grew up and I believe it is where I would prefer to die. It's where I feel I should be." He paused, a sudden thought crossing him. "I felt guilty before, and perhaps I still do, but I miss my home. I will always miss it"

Does it bug you that Eilidh steals your clothes?

"Only when it is something I would like to wear and she takes it without permission. It happens more often than I would like."

"She is better than most. We all have our faults and some of us are worse than others. She is one of the good ones."
