it's because every other ship got some kind of kiss or confirming log while davekat's were all vague or they were caliborn's gross joke shit that people will dismiss as such. there was no proper canon confirm we just wanted one damn log of the two post retcon
I can really understand this, don’t get me wrong. But at the same time… What would of been better? Hussie giving us his version of how Karkat and Dave are canon together, which might of made some fans mad, or, leaving it up to us to decide how they are? =/
Are Dave and Karkat matesprits, or do they go along with the Signless’ relationship and monopolize each other in all the quadrants? Its seriously up to us, the reader, to decide this and I’m not mad about it at all.
You can count Dave’s real talk with Dirk and Karkat’s concern for Dave’s well being as proof enough, if not even Hussie’s own confirmation that yes, Dave and Karkat are gay for each other. Even the log before all that, with Terezi and Vriska mentioning on wondering where the two stand with each other… Regardless of what they are, they are in love.
Maybe I’m just too used to shipping characters who show bits of affection, that say more then words or outright lovey-dovey interactions tend to. And really… everyone is going to ship what they want to ship, regardless of canon or non-canon or crack. I mean, seriously. XD I ship more then just DavKat myself, that isn’t canon, but I’m not upset I never got to see a legit interaction with said ships. I can just make one of my own.
(Also, a lot of Hussie canon ships tend to not be that great? What with how often said relationships end poorly–like Terezi and Vriska’s falling out, Dirk and Jake’s falling out, Jade and Davesprite’s falling out… What the fuck was up with Gamzee kissing Tavros’ severed head?! Just saying…)
