Conteeeeesss, some student is going around trying to copy everyone's homework (insert groaning)

➢✉ "What's so bad about copying homework? There are times where you can't always do it yourself, y'know."

It's been quite some time now that Snek spend her time in the library with Contess. She loves making a fellow Hypogean happy and every game Contess suggests is her favorite game ever. They've been playing Hide'n'Snek, they've been messing around with students, they even played Chess (even though Snek may not yet fully understand what the goal of that game is just yet).

But sometimes, when Contess talks about the students out there and all the punishments she had to enforce.... Snek looks out through the windows in the lounge, with a longing in her face that always prompts Contess to say "You are free to go and see for yourself! Don't be stuck in here like I am. It's way too boring." But the more Snek ponders, the more she realizes that ... freedom is also boring. There is no place she can't reach, no wisdom she couldn't teach and also... no rules she could breach... unless...

Snek waits patiently for Contess to emerge from her book. When she finally does, Snek slowly opens her eyes and approaches with the most eagerly begging expression possibly known to Hypo-kind. "Snek snek, sneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek?" (Can I have a student badge, pleaaaaaaaaaase?)

➢✉ Contess fully understood that being stuck in this library and playing the same games and retelling stories got boring, draining even. It would make sense that her companion would want to leave...

➢✉ Though then Snek asked for a student badge, which surprised her a bit. However, the more that the Hypogean thought of it, the greater the idea seemed. It was a perfect balance between school work and private game sessions!

➢✉ Contess quickly arranged a new badge, filling it with Snek's info, making her an official student at the Lyceum.

➢✉ "Of course, here you go! I'm looking forward to how many rules you can break..."

Having caught wind of the recent happenings of sentient plushies in the lyceum, the rulefiend would not have been surprised if one eventually showed up in her own likeness as well.

However, it was not a plushie but a portrait encased within a gold-painted metallic frame that was found lying beneath the rulebook one day. Attatched to the back of the frame was a note: 'Special Delivery Request from a third party (Original Sender Unknown)'

➢✉ "Oh my, what a beautiful piece... finally somebody recognises the effort I put into enforcing school rules! If only the others did, too.."

"You.. you've always had legs..?"

Fyona stared on in disbelief as she holds a book close to her chest. She was on her way to return a book and had passed by the Rulebook, paid respects and got Contess to emerge.

It only just registers to the young Magister now that Contess does in fact, have a full set of legs.

The only student who has never violated any of the rules prior to the recent Court Mage selection exam, Leymar's death and Magister Supreme Memphis's involvement in aiding the investigation.. - The Hypogean notes.

Oh this Merlin Jr had much to learn about her predecessors.

➢✉ "Well duh! Why wouldn't I have a full set of legs? I'm not actually a part of the rulebook, I only house it."

A gentle breeze passes through the window of the secret lounge and the light of the candles sway from its passing. Three knocks were given on the Ancient Brass Book, since... the gentle breeze does not have a physical form to bow before it.

"Pardon for interrupting your slumber, Miss Contess. ... May I have a brief conversation with you, tonight?"

A calm voice could be heard near it, ever so softly... hoping that she... would awake from her slumber for a brief moment.

➢✉ Contess noticed the three knocks on her rulebook, internally groaning that somebody was bothering her. Surely it must be another student, right?

➢✉ But then she heard her name being called out. No student knew that she was here, so it must be someone of importance if they knew that there was a hypogean hiding in a school. Contess came out of her rulebook, looking around. There was no one here... physically. But she could still feel some sort of presence.

➢✉ "Who is it? What do you need from me?"

*A single red rose appears out of thin air through a faint green magic glow that feels slightly off cold. The rose keeps hovering in the air and a paper appears with the following message:*

Hey,

it's been a very special day, that made me realize how much I love (to endure) your presence. Wish I could watch you spend eternity with me right now. Sooner or later, we shall united! I'll always be there to catch you. Whether you currently want to hold me close or break my neck - I will wait for you. Don't keep me waiting! ;-)

Wait a moment. The grunt's keeping a Hypogean? Wow. Gotta have a nice long talk with them. Feels like betrayal, not gonna lie. In the meantime, sorry, my offer is cancelled. I fear you could never join me in the afterlife. T_T You're missing out, though, just sayin'.

The night is quiet at the library. The guards hover silently along their paths, the books sit motionless in their shelfs and the Rulebook, too, catches up with some well-deserved rest.

Until a gentle shuffling can be heard from the side. A single book falls over. Then, another set of books seems to be pushed across the floor. More shuffling. Then silence. Until out of nowhere a faint voice calls. "snek" A pause. Something purple dressed in red crawls up the pillar up to where the Rulebook lies. "sneek" comes the voice with more insistence. But there is silence. The thing now crawls on top of the Rulebook before rising its voice once more:

"SNEEEK!"

➢✉ A groan could be heard from the rulebook once the noise filled the otherwise silent library. "Ugh... it's well beyond my work hours.. what do you want?" A voice came from the rulebook, sounding tired and slightly irritated.

➢✉ (￣_￣)・・・

➢✉ Shortly after the Hypogean would reveal herself to inspect the disturbance, only to realise it wasn't Merlin causing the ruckus as she anticipated.

➢✉ With a skip in her heartbeat, Contess was caught off guard when the little... critter? crawled on her book of rules. Not knowing what to make of it, she looked around, before cradling Snek in her arms.
