WOW I’m in love with all of this- superheroes AND time travel?! Where did you get inspiration from?

As for the baseline plot and setting, I’ve taken a generous amount of inspiration from Masks: A New Generation. The rest is a conglomerate of details I loved in, or wished I could have seen more in, superhero media or interactive fiction itself!

(As much as I yearn to go into the intricacies of character inspirations, I swear I’d be this close to spoiling the entire thing — so I’m gonna stop here)

Which of the characters do you, Dash, think you’d get along with the best?

Russ, Park, and Santi. Would not put it past me to catch feelings for either of them.

If I had to pick one, though, it would be Russ. Shh.

Kylie’s great, but I could maybe handle her twice a week max. Stacy would be fun to talk to at reunions. If Gideon could get over his fear of girls, I feel like he and I would vibe well together too.

Hi! I am only extremely excited for this game! The premise is so intriguing! I was wondering what time(s) is it taking place in? And why you chose that setting?

Thanks for taking the time to send in this ask.

The best way I can describe the temporal setting is that it’s an alternate present, with flashbacks into an era much like the 80s/90s/early 2000s (supposedly 20 years ago in-game).

(I hesitate to specify exact dates, because I feel it takes away from the timelessness of an in-game universe — ya feel?)

The world of Anachron is set in these time periods because it felt the most right for the characters — and I also thought it would be really fun to play around with a modern setting.

I take great joy in working in slang and memes and all that good stuff.
