What does ur process look like for drawing cod characters?? :D i always struggle so bad with ghosts mask and the tac vests but u make it look so gorg

ghost’s mask is a situation and a half but once you get it down you get it down

basically these are what really help me

(i found these on Pinterest im not sure what the credits are if anyone does plz let me know!!)

so whatever position you want him in choose that one

if you want to think about his mask in my more structural sense:

its kind of like a very shallow block on his face but honestly i am still yet to get is mask down stylistically

but for me whats most helpful is working reductively so id start with my base and kind of erase the mask and personally thats the easiest for me

for the tac vest honestly a lot of it is just me making it up, ive been drawing tac vests for awhile so i have a good general idea, but i recommend again references! for me its a vest with a bunch of square stuff on it (learning to draw cod stuff was such a learning curve because everything is soooo structural and like squarey, but learning this stuff has actually generally helped a lot with understanding shapes in a 2d space!!)

on a side note today is my final day for my foundation project!!!!! ill be free soon and can draw IMPORTANT (big buff men) things

Something I don’t see very often is people talking about how well you characterize price! In all your posts that include him I always feel like you hit the nail on the head! A leader of a group of men that are doomed. Someone to look up to, but to whom loyalty costs a price (lmao)

buttttt honestly i feel like i do a lot of art unconsciously anyways so my theory is

artist inspirations!! a big one is hereticceramics on instagram AMAZING composition,

oyasumi pun pun’s panel progression is a big one like inio asano shows a close up of the characters face changing as they express emotion

i also do a lot of print making in school, line lino, terapak, screen prints, etc so im a big fan of just how they look

like im a big fan of a border around an image like a screen print, or the scratchy look of lino, or the layering you can do with s tetrapak

honestly with all my stuff i kinda just imagine what i think is cool

like just what tickles my inspiration, it can highkey be anything tho like the editting style of my animatics are based off of the mw2 briefing screens, the pixel-ey look and the way everything jumps in layer by layer

i dont do it as much in my cod art but i wanna implement my swirly bits more and those are inspired by this flower i saw at my friends house

also i was in central and got this brochure from this march of climate change denying farmers and like lol but i loved the old ass text and the really badly printed images on it looked cool

so it can highkey be anything

but anyways tehee im sorry if i yapped so intensely
