how do people find metal bands who aren't like nazis anyway?
to be clear, the problem tends to be overstated for comedic effect. the vast majority of listenable metal bands don't have any fascist associations, so if you listen to something and don't go "this sucks", there's like a 90% chance you aren't listening to a nazi.
if you want to be absolutely sure though, you'll want to either look for discussion on left-leaning metal forums (e.g. r/rabm) and see what they have to say about them (you're probably not the first person to ask) or look them up on metal archives:
if their themes list includes terms like "racism" and "antisemitism", they're nazis ! otherwise, you can use this site to see stuff like their band members and label which can facilitate further research. is their label one that only signs nazis ? is their label one that never signs nazis ? does the frontman have a fashy side project ? did the frontman used to be a member of a fashy band but later distanced themselves from it after having a change of heart ? that sort of thing.
furthermore, while i obviously can't publicly recommend you engage in piracy, it is a way of ensuring you don't give money or usable attention to fascist artists, which sidesteps most ethical concerns entirely.

this is a common problem to have when it comes to interesting people, and this is part of why ive been mostly discussing him in private conversations rather than posts.

it's useful to have a name for that sort of very casual multiplayer game but i personally find that many of them are friendgem

not as much as you'd think, but i do really enjoy video games that a lot of people have heard mentioned once or twice and maybe saw a few episodes of a let's play of but never really looked into.
