Hey I know you don't care about faking it anymore so feel free to not respond. I just have a question. Is it me or season 1 feel different. imean the feel i get from season 1 is just so magical. The feel and the music is so different than next seasons. Im probably exaggerating but It feel like a different series. Im just thinking what was the reason.

I don't know why everyone gets the impression that I don't care, I do sis/bro, it's just that I am so very disappointed in Faking It so it hurts a little to even think about it. However, I do agree with everything you said. Season 1 was a lot more soulful and funny, the characters were more polished and consistent, the music was well-chosen to accompany emotional or funny moments...I have always said that Faking It started dying slowly in 1x08 and hasn't come back the same since. There's such a tonal shift, and it's not even about the shock of Amy sleeping with Liam, it's just gone downhill since because they haven't handled that storyline and aftermath well in the slightest.

As for the reason, I have no idea, I think that Carter's vision was wrong from the get-go and I am going to own up to what I say. He thought he could bait audiences into buying one thing when he wanted to sell another and THEN got pissy we figured it out halfway through. He also lost the 'soul' of the show when he wanted to turn it into an ensemble. Too many cooks in the kitchen for 20 min of airtime per episode...

So Alphys, what kind of work do you do at the lab? Are you specialized in one area of study, or do you have to branch out more as a royal scientist?

Yeah, what about 200 or Lauren. Even when they both of them were at their worst. When people from their past came from them, they fell back into each other. Because I do think that deep down they knew they could be that person for each other. There's a bond there that not even the writers (no matter how much they can fuck up) can take. We've already seen it. They way they can communicate with each other in ways no one else can. And everything takes me back to season 14, the case that focused on JJs sister. The final scene of that episode where Will gives her a necklace of their sons (not him) for her, because 'someone told him it she had a rough case' I mean I believe that's Emily the one who took the liberty to call him. To call him and tell him everything, because I don't even think for a moment that he knew. Still think he doesn't even know about the baby JJ lost back in Afghanistan. Don't think that anyone apart from her knows and that's a shame because Emily has felt that lost too..

Exactly, 200 really cemented how special they are to each other. Honestly since that episode, can't remember which one, where JJ was shell-shocked seeing pigs eat those bodies and Emily said "Look at me" and snapped her out of it, I saw something between them (here, for reference).

There were all of these little moments in hindsight so you can't tell me there was nothing ever there, even if the writers or the actors or ANYONE tries to backtrack on it now. Exactly, I think that, in a way, Emily and JJ always had this 'show, don't tell' relationship, whereas with Will, JJ always had to affirm him or reassure him that they were okay, that their relationship was solid etc. Emily just knew things, Will had to be told. The balance changed over the years a bit, but it's something I noticed.

Whichever the case, I hate how the writers essentially couldn't stand the idea of Jemily, so they made them not even be friends anymore, not even a teasing moment, nothing. I really want to give Evolution a chance from this point on but, man, with no Garvez or Jemily, it's hard as a shipper. Even as a casual viewer, I'm pissed. Too much focus on Rossi this season, not enough on sweet boy Luke, on Tara, even on JJ outside of Will. It's gone downhill and I wish I could say I have hopes for a change but I don't. Whatever writers they have now, they lost the soul of CM. They were literally happy on Twitter about Penelope and another abusive dude that's oh so sexy and deep, yawn. The Tyler crap just pulled the plug for me - I'm sorry but, for Penelope in particular, and the character relationships in general, this was Criminal Minds: Devolution.

Really, really loved what you said about Upstead being an example of a healthy m/f relationship. There seem to just be so few of them on TV rn (the only one that comes to mind is Densi from NCISLA IMO). I really hope the writers realize what they have in Upstead and continue on that thread rather than ruin it for the sake of drama or pandering.

Thank you so much! I would hate for the writers to ruin them like they did with Linstead just because Sophia left. I believe what they have built is very organic so I’d hate to see any on-set drama cause the split of relationships. Drama for the sake of drama is always overplayed and unnecessary. :)

it’s been almost four years and i’m still so mad about faking it and karmy. they had so much potential, friends to lovers trope, fake dating trope, blonde/brunette, they balanced each other out. i will never forgive carter or mtv. i will be bitter on my deathbed

I get you, anon, I do…I guess we just have to get used to getting either the “bury your gays” trope, ruined characterisations, some male “love interest” inserted in there to tarnish the story or steal focus from the girls or all around queerbait. That’s the case with most f/f ships. It’s like you always have to be extra guarded as a shipper or expect disappointment straight off the bat when you embark on one…sigh. It’s not just Karmy, it’s so many of them, I could make a list…
