I might sound dramatic, but I only get attached to a handful of authors, and you’re one of them (even though we don’t actually know eachother), so knowing that my little analysis made you just as happy honestly feels like such an honor.
And especially knowing that you’re considering picking Faking It back up again completely filled my heart. I’m so incredibly attached to that story (and I honestly don’t even know why), even though it only has three chapters. Your writing is just so captivating, so major props to you!!!
So… hoping I’m not bothering you any further, I also wanted to scream — I mean, analyze the masterpiece that is My Girl. If I yap too much, please let me know and I’ll end it asap. 😭
Let’s start with the opening scene, where OC is lost in her thoughts and then JK shows up in the sweetest way possible, immediately calling her “my girl.” I don’t know about her, but I would’ve melted on the spot.
And don’t even get me started on the fact that he dedicated an entire PINK section of his SCARY BLACK backpack just for her. If that doesn’t scream “hopelessly devoted to you,” I genuinely don’t know what does.
But can we PLEASE talk about the necklace?? And the fact that he specifically told her to make sure she always wears it??? I see you, JK… trying to claim your territory, you sneaky mannnn. 😭
like I said in my previous message… why can’t more men like soft, loving JK exist in real life? What a tragic loss for humanity. JUST KIDDING
What absolutely killed me, though, is that even after all of that she still had absolutely no idea what was going on. 😭 Which got me wondering… how long have JK and OC actually known each other? If I remember correctly, at the beginning it seems like it’s only been a relatively short number of years, which could explain why she never really noticed the change in him. Maybe he was already completely whipped for her from the moment they met? So to her, that was just… how JK had always been, and she never thought twice about it?
Then the scene the next morning was both adorable and absolutely hilarious when OC made sure JK wasn’t using her purple shampoo. Girl, I felt that. Those products cost a fortune!!! 😭
And then OC, after all of JK’s very “obvious” displays of affection, immediately going to Google to figure out what they could possibly mean… only to end up panicking. 😂 She is so painfully relatable.
BUT NOW WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THE REAL CLUE SCENE: THE COMPANY DINNER.
First of all, I completely melted when JK offered to tie her shoes after showering her with reassurance and compliments about how she looked.
And then, when JK finally announced in front of everyone that she was his girlfriend… my toes literally curled. 😭
I felt so bad for OC, though. From that exact moment on she spent the entire dinner in full panic mode and couldn’t even enjoy the evening anymore. But honestly, she did such a good job hiding it from everyone else (even though JK could tell she wasn’t actually okay), so someone needs to build her a statue for maintaining her composure.
The one who really broke my heart, though, was JK. At first he was so obviously hurt by what OC said once they got home, but he handled the situation like an absolute champ. He understood that she was panicking, and instead of taking it personally or getting offended, his first instinct was to comfort her. The line, “but he knows it’s not going to work this time when the person he has to protect me from is himself,” literally shattered my heart.
Thankfully, all’s well that ends well, because their confession at the end completely erased all the angsty tears from the previous scene. 😭❤️
What can I say, Gab… I genuinely didn’t think you could outdo yourself, but somehow you still exceeded my expectations.
Please never stop writing, because you’re honestly so incredibly talented. Your stories feel like such a breath of fresh air.

Girl it was a need for him to devote everything to her like he wears a hair tie around his wrist for her, he has basically his whole glove compartment and center console full of things she might need or just snacks in general.
He does not want to go anywhere without carrying at least a little piece of her with him.
I honestly love the idea of wearing your partner's initials.

And yes Gabriella was my idol 😂 We have the same name that is spelled the same way and we're both Latina so how could she not be?
But it's just so cute in general and although I prefer it to be somewhere obvious like a necklace or bracelet it's also very cute when it's a bit more inconspicuous like an engraving on the inside or having them hidden within a design of some sort.
No honestly it is a tragic loss for humanity! I seriously cannot settle for anything less than how Jungkook and these fictional versions of him treat my ocs and army 😭

She's an oblivious one alright.
So Jungkook and oc met towards the end their final year of college when they were working on their bachelor's degree and then they both went for their masters so they had a fair amount of time to get to know each other.
Like around 2-3 years before he thought he had asked her to be together 😂
And to answer you questions yes...he was smitten from the very start.
But the thing is is that Jungkook had been dating off and on around the time that they first met but not like sleeping around or anything since...as we can see he takes personal and emotional connection very seriously above physical intimacy. So because of that oc didn't really think he had a thing for her.
His excuse as to why he stopped dating though when oc asked was that he was more interested in focusing on his studies and his friends since they would soon be parting ways to become full fledged adults at the end of it all.
He was always attentive to her, but like she recalled in the story things changed after that camping trip. She just wasn't observant enough to read between the lines 🫠
And yup, that girl doesn't play about her products but he loves to use them anyways since he thinks she look so cute when she's angry with him over silly things like this. But like he said, he always replaces them 🤭
I thought the Google searches and Reddit threads were a nice touch for the over thinker she had started to become all because of that damn necklace 🤣
Girl I knowwww he's just her loving kind and caring best friend boyfriend and she just doesn't know it yet...oh but she definitely found out 😂
She for sure was spiraling but did her absolute best to hide it because she knew this was a very important dinner for him so she didn't want to ruin it. He was worried but he saw that she was keeping it together so he knew he could push through and do the same.
All he wanted to do though was pull her away from prying eyes and do everything he could to see her smile again.
But yeah I was trying so hard to figure out a delicate balance between his emotions and reactions because he was fully convinced that they were happily together and taking things slow...extremely slow but he was just happy to be by her side and call her his girl 🥰
He truly was hurt and it hurt me too girly like they have such a deep and meaningful bond that seeing her back away from him was so so hard.
Like ouch 😭
But like you said his first thoughts were very much protect and comfort but he knew he couldn't do that...at least not yet.
That line hurt me too girl like ahhh don't break my baby's heart like thaaaattttt

I finally finished my university exams, so I’ve been catching up on all the stories I’d fallen behind on, including yours! The very first thing I read was the Faking It drabble. First of all, you have no idea how much I’ve missed that story, so when I saw you’d posted this little update, my heart literally leaped.
So, hopefully I’m not bothering you, but I really wanted to scream I mean, analyze the drabble with you. 😂
First of all, I burst out laughing when OC, rightfully annoyed, was trying to shake Jungkook off while washing the dishes. At first he had absolutely no clue what was going on, and then the second he realized he’d stepped onto a minefield, he immediately let go and looked like a kicked puppy😭
I also loved how, instead of getting defensive or annoyed himself, JK immediately realized he’d messed up and genuinely tried to apologize. We love a man with emotional maturity!!!
But then OC saying something like, “It’s not the first time you’ve forgotten things… is there something you want to tell me?” really got me thinking… Why was JK being so forgetful during that time? I can’t wait to find out what’s really going on there…
Now let’s get to the most heart-wrenching part: our little Juni’s emotional breakdown.
First of all, I missed our Juni bug SO much. It honestly broke my heart seeing her “doubt” OC’s love for them. Obviously OC would literally die for her and for JK, but I can totally understand why little Juni might always be afraid of losing her mommy all over again, and that absolutely shattered my heart.
But then, when Juni immediately teamed up with OC against JK, I literally screamed, “YES, GO GIRL!” 😂 She’s such a badass.
Also… Tommy!! Is he the little boy they met at the park? Because if so… WHAT IF THEY END UP TOGETHER WHEN THEY’RE OLDER?? I don’t know why my brain immediately went there, but now I can’t stop thinking about it. 😭
Thankfully, all’s well that ends well, so that final scene where they made up left me finishing the drabble with the biggest smile on my face.
Seriously, Gabby, you never miss a shot. I missed Faking It so much, and from your recent asks I’m guessing it’s one of the next projects you’re planning to finish, which makes me ridiculously excited.

I love Juni sooooo much and I feel horrible for making her cry but it's a true fear that some children have when they see their parents fighting. That little girl deserves the whole world but her heart is so big that she can't help but get scared or hurt easily when it comes to the ones that she loves.
OC would literally go through hell and back for her and Jungkook so they're not getting rid of her that easily lol
Juni is definetly a girls girl so she will throw her daddy under the bus when it comes to her Pretty Lady/Mommy hehe
Oooo I didn't even think about Tommy being that boy! It would be cute if it was but the little boy's parents from the park are too nice that it wouldn't really fit well with Tommy's situation.

I really wanted that drabble to stay self contained so I'm glad you liked the ending 🥰
I didn't want to leave anything uncertain between all of them but also show that there are still some worries on Juni's side because she (as we can all see) is very perceptive and picks up on a lot of things even at such a young age.
She won't doubt oc in terms of her love or loyalty but with Juni's mother passing away a few moments after she took her first breaths it makes sense why she thinks it could all be taken away from her.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my story and fall in love with the characters right alongside me! It's a story I've held close to my heart for so long so I hope my brain will stop holding itself back and just write for Pete's sake 😭
