“You Will Remember My Name” Ember McLain - Inspired Pop Culture Curse

“Like dead trees in cold December, nothing but ashes remain.”

Best used against an abusive ex-lover/friend, but can be used against those who have hurt you.

Best done during a New Moon!

What You'll Need:

A candle (any color)

Something to light a fire with (a lighter/matches)

The Song “Remember”

Any old notes/drawings/etc, burn-able things they’ve given you

A fire-safe bowl/dish

A poppet filled with grass/hay/paper strips and a slip of paper containing the target’s name/name sigil

!! Be sure to practice fire-safety! !!

What to do:

🔥 STEP 1: Light the candle and turn on the song.

🔥 STEP 2: Place the notes/drawings/burn-able stuff into the fire-safe bowl

🔥 STEP 3: Place the poppet on top of the notes/etc. saying:

“Laid upon these memories,

“you hold no power over me.”

🔥 STEP 4: Light the notes/etc. and poppet on fire. Let them burn to ashes, while you say:

“Your heart has rendered your loss, now bear the shame.

“Like dead trees in cold December, only the ashes remain.

“You can not forget me, no matter how hard you try.

“You will remember my name until the day that you die.”

🔥 STEP 5: When they’re burned and the song has stopped, blow out the candle. Bury the ashes in your yard/garden.

Simple Self-Love, Courage, and Strength Spell

What you’ll need:

Amazonite

Basil

Acorns

Bay Leaf

Clover

Tiger Eye

Cinnamon Stick

Sugar

Target’s Name/Name Sigil Written onto a small piece of paper

Satchet/Bag/Jar/Container

What to do:

STEP 1: Place the amazonite, tiger eye, and acorns into the container.

STEP 2: Place the cinnamon stick, basil, clover, and bay leaf into the container.

STEP 3: Place the paper with the name/name sigil into the container.

STEP 4: Pour the sugar into the container, saying/thinking:

“As strong as a beast, as lovely as a flower,

“this [pouch, jar, satchet, container] amplifies my love and power.”

STEP 5: Close the container. Keep it on your altar/workspace/person/etc.

what is a "witch name"? why do you use one?

A witch name is a name used by a person who practices magic in place of their birth name, for various reasons, or just because.

I personally use one as a sort of magical pseudonym. It’s a name I use only in my practice, a replacement for my real, birth name. 

Some witches believe that it’s a way to hide oneself from curses and negative stuff, like if someone wants to curse you they need to use your real name or something, so they use a fake “Witch Name” to hide. (Tho I think that comes from pop culture, idk?)

They’re a celebration of my witchhood and my gender expression/gender identity. Plus they’re witchy-themed, so they match my ~ aesthetic ~

I’ve not tagged anything as hermaphrodite, I’ve tagged them as Hermaphroditus, a deity I worship, who’s name the word “hermaphrodite” comes from. While insensitive, I don’t think the word is outdated, and it’s still used in some medical practices, as a synonym to intersex. So I’m going to keep tagging any androgyny posts as Hermaphroditus, because I think he gets a kick out of them and is happy that I’m celebrating the unity of the ends of the gender binary.

If you’re unhappy seeing his name, you can block/blacklist it, that should work?

Simple Nighttime Calming Spell

Requested by anonoymous, to aid in soothing the anxiety brought about by the fear of the dark, nyctophobia.

What You’ll Need:

A Flashlight, an LED tealight, or a candle and something to light it with

What to do:

STEP ONE: Turn on the flashlight/tealight/light the candle. Hold it in your hands (if you can) or set it on your desk/the floor/somewhere close but safe.

STEP TWO: Close your eyes and softly whisper/chant/think as many times as you feel comfortable:

“Shining light, burning bright, give me comfort on this night.”

STEP THREE: Turn off the flashlight/tealight/blow out the candle and get into bed, get comfortable. If you feel anxious again, you can repeat the spell, or whisper/chant think:

“Shining stars, through the dark, protect my body, soothe my heart.”

To be honest, I’ve only recently started learning about Freya. I’m not an expert, but I’ll tell ya what I know:

Blue. Light blue. She likes blue, from my experience. Blue things. Pretty blue things. Statues of angels would be neat, and white cats. You could buy her a white cat stuffed animal toy? Play music for her? Write her a song? Give her amber, gold jewelry… stuff like that.
