if you had complete control over the next warriors series what would you make it about and what major changes would you make? :3
truthfully i don't have any plot idea. generally, i will take anything marginally interesting from the series. it is the little bits that add up that make me wanna throw the books in a canyon.
if i had complete control, i'd honestly just set down these ground rules. by no means do i posit these are "how to fix warriors", just my own self-indulgent wishes:
kill crowfeather and brambleclaw and transfer me $50 cad for having to read about them.
MAKE. SQUIRRELSTAR. INTERESTING. have her engage in the plot. have her be rude and feisty and not willing to wait around for something to happen. people like squilf for a reason, stop sucking out those reasonings.
make ivypool worse. i know people like boring writing choices with her but i don't.
the arc must center an all she-cat protagonist cast. none of their arcs can center around romance or kittens, nor can they conflate their desire for normalcy with that. they must be fully involved participants of the plot, who's actions have meaningful impact on the story.
kill harestar, put heathertail in charge. windclan is painfully boring because harestar is a nothingburger of a character.
actually, lots of deaths. kill all the darlings, force your new characters into the spotlight and give them arcs that grapple with the consequences of the past.
the plot's central villains cannot be evil outsiders, godless heathens, rogues, outsiders, etc.
multiple internal villains that directly come from clan society. just multiple big villains, beings that the protagonists have to contend with repeatedly. bonus points if one of the protagonists is on their side and must directly come into conflict with the other protagonists.
actually add that in as a separate point: an interesting use of the pov system. i cannot believe it took until avos (and barely do they wish to deviate from thunderclan) for a non-thunderclan pov to become more common. legit embarrassing use of a narrative tool.
my standards are genuinely so on the floor by now. it's like a constant repetition of reading the same shit that irritates me and will never get better. a good plot won't save the series, reflecting on these little things that make reading the books a drag will.
