General:
We’d like to warn that this fest will deal with mature subjects, and that the participants will be responsible for curating their own experiences within the fest. That includes the viewing of the prompts list, which is uncensored.
We are an “Anonymously Posting Fest”, which means works will be initially posted anonymously to AO3 to allow exposure for new artists and writers and remove any chance of reader/viewer bias.
By joining the fest, you agree to add the mod account as a co-author to your work for the duration of the fest. Once author reveals are done, the mods will remove the co-authorship.
Themes
This fest’s main objective is to promote the creation of positive, inclusive and well thought-through content that celebrates trans characters. To make that happen, the mod team reserves the right to ask authors to rethink parts, or the totality of their work.
Everybody has a different trans experience, so do not invalidate anyone else’s. Keep yourself open to dialogue.
There will be no tolerance for LGBTQIA-phobia, racism, ableism, antisemitism or other sorts of bigotry within this fest.
We do not tolerate character hatred, ship bashing, or kinkshaming, either. This is a “ship and let ship” environment, as well as a YKINMKBYKIO (“your kink is not my kink but your kink is okay”) one.
Art and Fic guidelines:
All fic entries must be at least 500 words in length. There is no maximum word count.
Art submissions should show there has been time invested, so please make sure your work is more elaborate than just a sketch. Both digital and physical art is permitted, but scans or pictures of physical art must be clean and clear.
Pieces for this fest must not be a part of an on-going series (such as a sequel or a prequel to an already existing fic).
We ask artists to please do not sign their works when you first submit them, in the name of initial anonymity.
Once the fest is over and author reveals have been done, writers and artists are permitted to post their work wherever they’d like (Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, etc). Artists may also replace the initial archive with a signed one on AO3.
If you are submitting fic, you must use a beta reader, who will check your work for spelling and grammar mistakes. If you have an issue finding a beta reader, please ask for the mods’ help.

Submission:
Works are due on 22 March 2021.
All works must be rated and tagged appropriately, no exceptions. Each work needs to be tagged appropriately so that readers are able to avoid interacting with content they do not wish to.
When submitting your work to our AO3 collection, you should add the mod account, HP Trans Fest, as a co-author of your work.
