what's the story with Jeff's dad?

Hello, anon! Boy, I don’t think you knew what you were in for with that ask, lol. NEVER FEAR THO. You asked for it, so you shall receive it... Just FYI, tho--this is going to be a kinda really really long post lol...

~The backstory~

Jeff grew up in a very patriotic military family--ie. his dad was in the service as a lieutenant general, so they moved around a lot. His mom used to be a naval nurse, but she became a stay-at-home once Jeff came along. They lived in Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Georgia, and California, where they ended up staying the longest.

When he wasn't deployed, his dad and Jeff were inseparable. In fact, his dad always dreamed of being a racer, himself, and his son shared that with him, growing up watching racing with his father.

Jeff grew up ever the patriot like his father (and his mother). Their home always had a flag out front, and their home always had red, white, and blue somewhere throughout.

Unfortunately, Jeff's dad was killed in Afghanistan when he was only 9. It was detrimental to both him and his mom. They were never quite the same after that, but it caused Jeff and his mom to grow closer than before.

At first, when he turned 18, Jeff thought about enlisting in the army to honor his father, but when he went to L.A. to formally enlist, he just so happened to run into John Lassitire, his later-on crew chief. John had a twin brother enlisting in the army, and when Jeff asked him if he was joining too, John responded that he had an internship at American Oil Co., hoping to be a crew chief someday.

Somehow, that did it for Jeff.

He joined the local racing academy, and found that it came naturally for him. His greatest support system, his mom, was there every step of the way, and so was his newfound friend, John.

Jeff landed a sponsorship with American Oil when he turned 20, and participated in his first major race in Indianapolis, with John as his crew chief--his own first time coaching.

Jeff was a yellow Corvette to begin with, so since AOC (American Oil Co.) was known for yellow and was a new sponsor to begin with, Jeff got to choose his livery--and since it was American Oil and he was a patriot at heart, he chose an American Flag scheme over his original yellow. He wanted to honor his father's service, and his dream to be a racer. He was living out his father's passion, and he wanted to make him proud.

Slowly but surely, Jeff made his way to the top, with John by his side. He eventually moved to Indianapolis when he was 22 to be closer to his sponsor and the racing world. He met Lewis at a GT touring race in Austin shortly thereafter, and that's where they became fast friends.

Fast-forward past all the cannon stuff from Cars 2 and 3, Jeff is retired and a spokescar for RSN alongside Darrell, Shannon, Bob, and Chick (unfortunately). He has his mother, and his wife and two kids back at home, cheering him on.

Jeff always makes time to visit his father back in California at the national cemetery--

Hi! I guess the only question I can think of is, what does Jeff do when he's not racing?

Hello, friendo! :) Thanks for the ask; any asks in any form are always accepted and appreciated!

Jeff enjoys spending time with his family on the off-season! While he has a condo in Indianapolis, his main home is in Vallejo, CA, so he retreats there in the winter season because he's a Corvette, dangit and he don't do snow very well, thank you.

He likes to take his son and daughter to the beach and collect shells--they have a whole wall devoted to shells, no kidding. He and his wife take romantic drives to wildlife parks and to nearby Napa for wine tastings. He and Lewis also get together from time to time, either Jeff going to England or Lewis coming to California.

The whole family drives down to San Francisco on weekends and because his kids like watching and laughing at him drive down Lombard Street and get really frustrated with people stopping him every 5 minutes while he's at an awkward 90 degree angle.

The sentimental side of Jeff's winter vacation is when he goes to the national cemetery in Sacramento to visit his dad three times every off-season; once with his family on Veterans Day, once with his mother, and once alone.

*bonus--what Jeff's mansions probably look like (I googled mansions in Vallejo and Indianapolis lol and these popped up XD)

11: No, not at all. Although, with me, it does go the other way around. :)

15: Lewis. I know it's gonna sound cheesy, but he means the world to me. It's hard enough not seeing him as much as I'd like, let alone losing him completely.
