Forgive me for transposing my tags on my reblog to the ask box but I totally agree with your post about Myne's age and her perception of her “peers”! And then THE VERY SAME PEOPLE turn around and say “ohhhh Sylvester is so terrible for not parenting her not treating her like a child!!!” Like. Dude. PICK A LANE.

I think it's insanely interesting how she views people in relation to herself because it's not so simple as “oh she sees her peers as children because she's mentally an adult” when it's just. Not true?? I don't think we get concrete proof that she does. She sees Eglantine for example as older despite Myne+Urano combo age being most definitely elder.

FerMyne is a very good ship but I think people (especially on Discord, my fucking god) shut down other ships in an instant using this as a bludgeon.

Anyways I hope you don't mind me sending this ask, I've been following along your posts about AoB's trope/genre subversions and the breakdown of Yurgenschmidt's hypocrisies. You're so big-brained for it, whenever I see a particularly rancid take from somewhere else I come back to your posts to cleanse my brain.

Rozemyne is an interesting character bcs, If you’ve noticed, she rarely states who she loves and likes until it’s absolutely necessary for her to do it.

Even with her family, she starts showing affection but it isn’t until she has a near death experience that she becomes very vocal about how much she loves them. With Ferdinand, it isn’t until he’s set to leave for Ahrensbach that she vocally states how much he means to her. Even with Lestilaut, she states that his sudden proposal was opening a can of worms she didn’t want to open.

While she doesn’t lie when she has noted someone is important to her, she takes a while to admit it.

Also, her way of defining “love” has very little romantic connotations, and oftentimes just falls in an ambiguous “family”.

Saying that age is the only reason why she wouldn’t consider someone as romantic interest, is greatly reducing her character. There’s like at least five things that would come first than age - hell Ferdinand checks all the boxes and she STILL doesn’t see him in a romantic light (as of now at least)

Also, and this more important to me, is fucking rude.

People are allowed to ship whatever they want, regardless of what canon says. So pulling the “but they said x in canon!” is like spoiling the fun for everyone for the sake of a rigid moral compass that blocks you from even exploring the characters in interesting ways.

Fandom is about having fun, exploring rships and encouraging others to have a say in what they think of characters!

If you have a genuine insight into characters, sure! Share it, expand on it. But using the tired and useless “she said x therefore she won’t see them as romantic therefore shut it all down” is just, stifling. It screams horrible fandom etiquette

That said, I’m very happy that you like my essays! I try to put my thoughts in order and sometimes I take days to write them, so it means a lot to me.

hi! i read your essay on gushing and then started reading your essay on mlb and you seem to really like magical girls so i wanted to share a very niche one i watched as a kid called Ai to Yūki no Piggu Gāru Tonde Būrin (super pig here in brazil), it's a parody and it's really hard to find but i like the story (also the male lead is in love with the alter ego.... that is a pig girl). i hope you enjoy it if you check it out owo

okay, eight of wands energy 👀

this card, very plainly, is telling you to GO. do the damn thing. channel your inner Spirit, stallion of the cimarron, and freaking RUN.

one of the most beautiful thing about horses is their freedom of movement and this card is the universe telling you, it's time. your "freedom" is dependent on you. how and when you move. your willingness to move. the work you've done has led up to this moment, so go. do whatever it is you've been hesitating on.

the energy of this card is like... not a suggestion (like yes a suggestion...) but there's real urgency to this card. like the speed with which a horse runs. the downside to this card is that the energy moves quickly and can be here and gone in a flash. if you hesitate on whatever it might be... career, relationships, self well-being, you might miss the moment to really capitalize on it. you have to trust yourself. opportunities are arising and you're unburdened by things that might've weighed you down in the past. you can go.

4. Whats your favorite feeling?

i actually really love the feeling of nostalgia. i'd consider myself a fairly sentimental person and something about happy memories and places gives me the warm and fuzzies.

8. Whats a fabric/texture that’s nostalgic for you?

i don't know what it's called, but it's probably that synthetic fabric that when you rub it against itself, it goes *whish whish whish* do you know what i'm talking about? it's on waterproof jackets usually, i think? kind of like the fabric of windbreakers, but not.

13. Bath or shower to relax?

unpopular opinion? i hate baths. like hate them. like if i go somewhere and there's only a tub and no shower, i guess i'm not getting clean. but also, i don't relax in the shower... maybe it's the californian in me... always in a drought. who's got the water wherewithal to relax in a shower?

27. Do you like to garden? Have you ever grown something?

i wouldn't say it's my favorite hobby, but i do enjoy it! i think unfortunately, i don't enjoy gardening the food growing plants, i like planting flowers.

the judgement card literally jumped out at me as i was shuffling. here we have the reindeer. no, they're not judging you. the energy of this card is actually the freedom from judgement.

while now we see reindeer as the animals that pull santa's sleigh, they were once important resources for man as deer trails would often lead to a bounty. though in the card they're delivering gifts (which are still unopened) the real gift from this card is that you have everything you need inside of you to feel worthy and meaningful. you don't need to be given a gift for that. just as you can tap into and "open" your gifts, you are also the only one who can limit them.

there's a quote from illusions: the adventures of a reluctant messiah by richard bach that i feel is really closely tied to this card, "argue for your limitations and you get to keep them."

don't compare yourself to others in regards to your relationships, work, or self -- you are where you're supposed to be on your journey; whether that's on your healing path, your singlehood, or your current employment.

My name's Nicole, 15 August birthday, and a thing unique to me is that I'm studying early childhood development. But now I'm worrying that I may have chosen the wrong thing to do with my life and feel like I'll probably end up being a teacher which hasn't really ever been a dream for me.

hiiii! thank you so much hunni bunni 🤗 can't believe we got to that milestone, but super excited for what's to come. and super excited to flex for intuitive muscles for this tarot card pull! (just a note that unlike other decks, my deck doesn't do reverse meanings -- meaning that whether the card is flipped over right-side-up or upside-down, it's the same message as we're using animal totem energy here 😉)

i pulled the death card. but fear not, hunni bun. this card rarely deals with physical death but rather the ending of something. and specifically with this deck and the imagery of a vulture (or more specifically, a california condor) it deals with cycles.

the condor plays a role in the cycle of life -- which includes death. something within the cycle you're in is ending now... whether that be the physical aspect of your study coming to an end. or perhaps the thought that this was the path for you. maybe teaching wasn't the pretty picture you wanted, but the vulture isn't pretty -- yet it still plays a role.

trying to stop a cycle can be difficult, if not a moot point. if the tree doesn't bend with the wind, it will break. so try to focus on bending with this season of life, learning what you can from the experience, and adding it to your repertoire of you when this season ends and the new one begins. cycles can be tough and enduring, but the wonderful thing about them is they keep going round.

let's also not forget that in the cycle of life, after death comes birth. if we take the condor literally here, it's a bird that was on the far end of endangerment and is currently rebounding with success and growing numbers. from strife, are you not a phoenix rising from the ashes? ❤️
