5, 17, 24 and 38 for the writer's ask!
5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why? Stars, Hide Your Fires. It’s just so angsty. I was very self-indulgent with it, in that I allowed myself to be as angsty as I wanted, and the result ended up being rather cathartic for me, in that it allowed me to express and come to terms with the frustratingly loose threads at the end of Thor 1. Loki had been building toward that mental break for a long, long time, and it really needed to be dealt with. And I just like how it turned out and I re-read it probably more than I should admit.
17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on. From ch. 12 of Sea: “What’s everyone feeling for lunch?” Tony, whom Loki discovered was a habitual snacker, was munching on “trail mix” from a small pouch. “Pizza? Chinese?”
24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes? I have a complicated relationship with smutty scenes, lmao, in that I like reading them when it’s Thorki (and even then sometimes I skim or skip a lot), but I really dislike writing them in general. It always feels awkward and forced to me; when I include them, it’s preferably briefly and usually bc I feel like people want them? I mean, it usually matters to the plot, too, like with the Valki sex scene in Sea, but I probably could have ended up in the same place without going into detail. I love slow-burning up to that first kiss, followed by a lot of kissing, but I dislike transitioning into the inevitable sex that follows. (Which, I’m kind of like that in real life too, come to think of it, yay asexuality). I do have to say that I’m writing a smutty scene for my Thorki fic (StFB) and I’m finding I’m enjoying it a lot more. It feels much more natural for some reason. I’d say it’s because Thor and Loki’s chemistry is just so off-the-charts that the sex just flows out of them and I’m merely a conduit, but then I have to try to figure out why I’m not achieving that level of chemistry between Val and Loki in my other universe. Idk, idk. Anyway, that was a very babbly way to say that I try to avoid them if I can, unless it’s Thorki, and then I’m more inclined to make the effort.
38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it. Well. I don’t play well with others. It may surprise you to learn that I am kind of a control freak when it comes to my writing, in that I need everything to be just the way I want it. Even trying to think of some authors I admire, I’d rather just read what they wrote without feeling the need to join them on it, bc they’re doing their thing and if I want to do mine then I’ll go to my own story. So, no collabs for me, I suppose.
Thank you for the ask!
