I really like ask-posts.
The thing with them though, is that it feels like people who reblog them are asking permission to talk about themselves? Almost as if they need validation? I’ve done this too, believe me, but really, you don’t need to ask random strangers online to talk about yourself or not on your own blog. That’s the main thing, it’s you’re blog, you can talk about whatever you want to talk about on it.
Most of the time, people follow your personal blog because they like you as a person. They probably will naturally want to hear more about yourself. Of course, asks are a convenient way to really see what people following you want to know about you, but if you really want to talk about something, do it with no worry.
Just talk about what you want on your blog. It’s your blog, talk about yourself! Talk about that random thing about your personality! Make a huge “about me” with tons of seemingly insignificant things...I mean, if someone clicked on it, they were interested in you as a person, right?
You don’t need to ask people what they want to ask you. If you reblog an ask-me-post, usually that means you want to tell people about that part of yourself. Just do it!
I think the bottom line is, that talking about yourself does not equal vanity.
Talking about yourself is not inherently vain. It’s about the way you talk about yourself, not talking about yourself as a concept. Just do it!
Thanks to everyone for your kissing asks! I enjoyed writing them and I might be posting another one later that hasn’t been answered yet for reasons. Do you guys want more Ask memes? - Mun

matte: what is something you are proud of?
Just wanna say, I don’t know when I posted this ask meme, but I somehow found it! I’m proud of that!
In reality, I’m proud of 2 things:
My bomb ass pizza (It’s good as hell and I’m super upset that my pizza stone just broke a few weeks ago)
The work I do every day. Without getting too into the details, I have a job where I’m able to help a wide group of people, many of whom do vital, important work themselves, and I’m damn good at it.
I’m less proud of tumblr not telling me when I get an ask!
