7. If your character was allowed to murder one person without any consequences, who would it be and why?

Well, it depends on the character.  If it were my Origins character, Risa Aeducan, without a doubt it would be her brother, Bhelen.  He murdered their elder brother, Trian and blamed her for it -- getting her exiled from Orzammar.  Payback is a bitch.If it were my Dragon Age II character, Peregrine Hawke, without a doubt it would be Meredith.  Think of the mages that wouldn’t have been made tranquil or killed or tortured under her watch.I know this won’t be popular, but the person Nyssa (my Inquisitor) wanted to murder was Bianca.  While Varric certainly is responsible for his own behavior in keeping in touch, she entices him to come to her workshop despite his protests that every time he does, assassins come after him.  She is directly responsible for the red lyrium getting into Corypheus’ hands, making him that much more powerful by corrupting the templars and controlling them. That all might have gone without much grumbling, but when Bianca threatens the Inquisitor if anything should happen to Varric -- that’s when Nyssa wanted to push her into the chasm.  Bianca is cheating on her husband and putting Varric’s life at risk by continuing a relationship that can go nowhere -- choosing wealth and privilege and keeping Varric dangling.  The hypocrisy of it all made Nyssa want to kill her.

💝 Nyssa’s most recent serious relationship is with Blackwall.  There was just something about the man she implicitly trusted from the beginning, and she pursued him, gently but  relentlessly, despite his protests and his discouragement.  When his true identity was revealed, she was hurt that he’d kept it from her – but saw that in a real sense, he’d lived the past five years atoning for his crime, and that in honesty, he WAS the lie…. even if he couldn’t see that he was the lie.

It took some time for them to figure out how to fit together again, but in all important ways, she never stopped trusting him.  He, in fact, is the one who still doubts himself. (note: this is from the fic I am writing – RPs I am currently engaged in are following some very, very different paths.)

💥  Nyssa’s worst relationship was a pretty unsatisfying one in the Circle.  She’d made very sure of her skills in brewing potions to prevent pregnancy, and was glad for it – the mage who flattered her and charmed his way into her good graces over a period of months had foolishly bragged to others of the Circle that he was about to bed a Trevelyan.  Unfortunately for him, he said it before Ser Bran, a templar…. whose last name also happened to be Trevelyan.

The mage was transferred to the Circle in Jader with a black eye, and Nyssa had to bear the brunt of Ser Bran’s lectures on not sullying the Trevelyan name – a theme also picked up by her cousins who were lay brothers and sisters in the Chantry.

💍 Before the conclave, the idea would never have occurred to her.  As a mage she cannot inherit, and the Chantry would never allow a marriage between two Circle members.  It was just barely possible to marry outside the Circle but – what non-mage would want her?

Since becoming Inquisitor, it’s an intriguing question.  If mages are allowed to live outside of Circles, as free men and women, or at least, if she is allowed to remain outside the Circle when all is said and done – then yes.  She would marry.  With the right person -- one who sees her as Nyssa, and not as mage, Herald, Inquisitor, savior -- or any of the rest of that nonsense.

"Inquisitor, can I speak with you a moment?"

Nyssa nodded, indicating a bench in the garden.  “Of course, Samson.  What do you wish to ask me?”

"Hello, Inquisitor. I am told you are from the Ostwick Circle. I am curious if it was different from Fereldan Circle." - knowledgeintranquility ((hello))

Nyssa indicated that her visitor should sit and be comfortable.  “Let me call for refreshments, and I will try to answer your question to the best of my abilities.  Please call me Nyssa.  What is your name?”

Bottom. Not a bad thing mind, just how it comes across.

Probably right.  Nyssa didn’t have much experience with relations, so she’s quite unsure of herself.  She takes the lead in everything else, so stands to reason she may follow in the bedroom.

☁ - If they’re caught out in the rain how do they react?

Nyssa spent twenty of her twenty-six years in the Ostwick Circle -- and while it was a Circle known for its serenity and its relaxed rules about mages, she still chafed at the sameness and insularity of it all. Unless they’re in battle or on a mission (such as in Crestwood or the Storm Coast), Nyssa is likely to take cover in thunderstorms, but to stroll around getting wet in drizzles or lesser storms, letting the water wash over her.  She’s been known to close her eyes, turn her face skyward, and spin slowly in the rain, tasting it with a big grin -- and to stomp in puddles when especially playful.

“Hey, hey. Calm down, okay? What got you in such a state?”

Nyssa was pacing, wringing her hands.  “It’s my fault,” she choked, turning to face Blackwall wide eyed.  “My fault.  You heard Cole.  He didn’t care about any of them.  All he wanted was me.”

She panted, unable to stop moving.  “Farriers.  Barmaids.  Innocents.  Faithful.  All because of me.  Because of this!”  She thrust her left hand and its mark at him.  “My fault.  They died because they were between him and me....”
