Hikari/Miyako, Takeru/Iori, Mimi/Sora and I don't know which one between Ken/Miyako and Takari so I'm just gonna ask you both :')

I mean, they’re super cute girls and they’d be so cute together (I wrote them once, here: Parallels), but they’re not my favourite for each other.

Takeru/Iori

D: I’m neutral on it

I friend-ship (see what I did there?) so hard, only because Iori is such a sweet boy and Takeru can be such a little shit and sometimes he needs someone to keep his ass grounded. But romantically, I have a lot of trouble shipping Iori with anyone. Like, the most I’ll give you is say that he blushes a lot when he hits puberty and his attractive older girlfriends keep hugging him and stuff.

Mimi/Sora

A: I love it

Actual favourite girlxgirl pairing, because Sora is such a badass and so good at helping Mimi get her shit together, and Mimi is so supportive of Sora (she even supports her relationship with Yamato, let me go crawl into a hole and die pls she’s so sweet). I don’t see how they wouldn’t work together. If I didn’t love Jyoura as much (or Michi and Mimato), they’d be my OTP. (The one shot that turned me: Borrowed.)

Kenyako

C: Not a bad ship

I don’t dislike it, but I don’t love it. Canon Digimon pairings kinda elude me because I always think there are better people out there for them? I love Daiyako and Kouyako, for example, and Daiken and Kenkari omg. But they’re alright.

Takari

A: I love it

I’ve seen it work although people claim they’re boring, but they’ve definitely got material for days, and they’re so cute together, just look at all their fanart, come on. Bonus points for making both Taichi and Yamato uncomfortable.

Hi i love your character analysis. Who says the mimato fandom isn't as understanding as any other shipping fandom out there? The yamato (or mimi) of mimato is not OOC. if he were, why would people even ship mimato lol... Ooc yamato sucks.

Hi, friend! First, thank you for your kind words and have yourself some mimato cookies and lemonade (because it’s freaking hot in here). 

Courtesies out of the way, I think there’s a high chance that some Mimato out there is consistently OOC, so people not liking it is actually pretty much a valid thing? And that’s fine, I think shipping and fanfic reading has a lot to do with which interpretations of the character you’re comfortable with, because OOC is really, really subjective. I mean, as I said before, ‘tap-dancing-Yamato’ is super OOC for me personally, but he’s actually canon. But God, if we’re going to burn all ooc out of fanfiction, we’d be stuck with virtually nothing. There’s ooc in most of fanfiction, there’s ooc in canon as well -- real people often act out of character, too! 

Besides, every author has his/her own way of portraying these characters, so my advice to readers is: find a version you’re comfortable with and stick to it. Shipping is fun! Allow yourself the chance to enjoy it fully.

Takenouchi Sora for the "002" send me a character

How I feel about this character: Generally, I feel pretty good about Sora. I think she’s a good character and so, so valuable to the Adventure plot -- she was always sort of the group’s conscience and I’m convinced they would’ve messed up a lot more without her interventions. She’s a sweet, strong and frankly admirable girl and present me appreciates her a lot more than past me did, lol.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Jyou, Taichi, Mimi & very rarely, Yamato (actually, only if written by Pied Piper or daisyjohnson).

My non-romantic OTP for this character: I ship Sorato friendship heavily. 

My unpopular opinion about this character:  I am severely unimpressed with her character development (that “my mum doesn’t love me” thing felt a wee bit overdone imo), and most of the times I feel she’s not protagonist material at all. I love her as a secondary character but as a protagonist, I have found I am unable to care about whatever is going on with her.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I really wish she had chosen a different career. Something preferably in healthcare, or if they really wanted to insist on her being artistic (something we never glimpsed, canonically), something like architecture would’ve felt more natural for her, imho.

my OTP: Jyoura, Jyoura, Jyoura! There can never be anyone more perfect for my Sora than Jyou. <3

my cross over ship: Ryuugazaki Rei, from Free!, only because he’s exactly like Jyou, lol.

a headcanon fact: I can’t actually think of very many right now, but I headcanon strongly that Sora is unable to have any children. I know she has two kids, I remember that fucking epilogue, but in fanfiction I really like this idea since my favourite author touched upon it, please don’t judge me, I swear I treat her kindly in all my fictions (these are also pretty much the only times I ship her and Yamato tbh). I also love, love, love the idea of a florist or nurse Sora over fashion designer Sora any day. I also liked to think she can’t cook, but that was recently disproved and once again, I am disappointed by canon. I can’t catch a goddamn break!
