Lifting a hand Rhaegar pinched the bridge of his nose, a soft exhale slipping past his lips. He really did hate feeling like he had upset his daughter or any of his children for that matter, but there was no helping it. Being a parent and the crown prince wouldn’t always be a pleasant affair.

"Rhaenys, I’m sorry that things worked out that way but you must understand now that he did not care for you. If he was so easily able to pursue another then you must realize he was a fickle man unworthy of your affections."
