Oh my god I love those Toronto paintings! Any chance they or prints of them are for sale anywhere?

Ahh thanks so much! I am doing these for Plein Airpril, so it's a month long challenge, so I will be figuring out what to do with them once I finish in May, I think!

I made a wall of panels to paint for it, and I desperately want to finish it and see them all together haha.

When April wraps up I will make sure they are all scanned and finished up properly (with edge painting and sealing them nicely etc) and then I'll decide if they will become postcards or a zine or individual prints or all three! 7. Who are some artists that have inspired you?

Ahaha oh my god where to start!

My dad loved art and i remember him showing me Bruegel and Bosch food he had when i was very young, and i will always have a Little Weird Guy soft spot as a result:

and the first entertainment artist i remember being obsessed with was Keith Parkinson, who drew incredible fantasy book covers:

I got really into Edward Hopper in my last year of highschool - he bridged a lot of the narrative elements i loved in illustration with more abstract gone artery composition and more stuff or quiet content, and i still really find his work special:

I remember buying the ffvi strategist guide and earmarking all the pages where they shared the Yoshitaka Amano concept work because it was so utterly intriguing!

And I'll stop with 5 artists for now, but i could go on forever! (if someone asks this again I will add to the list!)

Hi, I'm sorry for the spam liking/reblogs but I just found your art and I am in love. It is so soothing and the colors are wonderful!! Makes me want to jump through my screen and live there full time - I would do just about anything to become another of the forest wizards roommates/apprentices lol

No wait wait it's me, I'm sorry! I didn't know I needed to go hunting for this blog's inbox in particular till I set up that asks post and this sweet message has languished for so long!

So thank you so much, I too would move into the tower of the forest wizards in a heartbeat! I think I'd spend most of my time in the greenhouse level, but I could be convinced to go upstairs for some astronomy once in a while.

I've been following your tumblr for a long time, and just now figured out that you're the same artist that did By Crom! Whoops. I wanted you to know I love your work and still have my oringinal kickstarter edition. It makes me so happy. I hope you're doing well!

6. Favorite and least favorite angles/perspectives to draw?

I am always torn because I love love love a dramatic up or down angle! But they are for sure a real pain to draw, always. They are both my favourite AND my least favourite and I couldn't tell you how to distinguish that feeling of excitement from that frustration of challenge, honestly. Not how my art brain works.

Oh boy this one's a tough one! Much like my fav artists, this is a list I will keep expanding if you keep asking because on my end I don't really think there's an end to the list!

Princess Mononoke Background Art

All of it, I mean, but especially the forest spirit's forest. Just, changed my brain a bit when I first saw it.

Frazetta is huge for me, as you may be able to guess. Hard to pick a single image to capture what I love about his stuff, but let's go with the Sea Witch for now:

And another artist whose works haunt me is Caspar David Friedrich. We deserve a Wuthering Heights movie that has a landscape as alive and as haunted as his were:

John Berkey, especially when his work blends concrete hard surface scifi with 60s graphic abstraction:
