So the Identity Porn Jazz/Prowl Trilogy.
Basically opens in Praxus which is still Neutral with Prowl working a case that makes him run into Ricochet, a Decepticon who is chasing down a Con working with Prowl's suspect. Ricochet becomes interested in him and keeps showing up and they eventually start sleeping together.
This eventually accumulates in Prowl discovering he is carrying and is startled to find Ricochet is thrilled and actually softens a bit towards him and confesses about a former lover he'd lost, changing their dynamic to something else. Ricochet is visiting a lot more and Prowl asks him if he'd leave the Cons.
Ricochet explains leaving isn't really an option if he stays on Cybertron. Prowl doesn't really have any connections besides Ricochet and he figures taking a risk on a colony world might be worth it because a CCs child with a Con doesn't have a great chance of life in Neutral conservative Praxus. Prowl can see the war closing on all sides and how the danger grows and no one listens. He is feeling frustrated and decides to be selfish and chose the beginning of a family he has rather than the city that treated him as lesser for being a Cold Construct. Ricochet says he has one last job and that though he can't leave as Ricochet than he can as someone else and comments he always liked the name Meister.
Prowl begins preparing for them to depart.
Ricochet leaves and heads back.
The Identity Porn comes from the fact Ricochet is Jazz. Or rather the shell personality that Jazz uses to infiltrate the Cons. Thing is Ricochet and Jazz are the same person just split due to some botched Shadowplay/mind messing around.
The shell personalities were designed under Sentinel, who Jazz worked for, and made by separating part of a Cybertronians mind but are ultimately supposed to just be like wearing a mental disguise. They aren't supposed to be fully developed or separated, but they can go wrong.
Such as with Punch who was Jazz's mentor/parent and was consumed by his Counterpunch personality which fully developed.
Jazz has a deeply personal fear to losing himself to Ricochet especially when he starts to realize, despite Ricochet's best efforts, there is unaccounted for time. He has a weird hate-rejection relationship with the Ricochet side of him since it has some of his more "negative" personality traits as well as some of his grief and darker urges. He is also trying to convince himself he doesn't sometimes hear Rico talking to him.
He has suspicions, but ones he hasn't raised with Ratchet yet, that something is going wrong, but no evidence and his check ups don't show anything. But then he returns to prepare for a mission and finds info about a attack on Praxus. Jazz is receiving the news when Ricochet starts screaming inside him and takes over.
Jazz watches as Ricochet takes their body and heads straight to the city. Jazz is shoved in a small box and forced to sleep, which terrifies him.
Prowl meanwhile is dealing with the devastation of his city, hiding survivors in the sewers, this is how he meets the very young Bluestreak, and trying to get them out. Ricochet appears and they fight about his knowledge before holding each other. Ricochet wants to get Prowl out but he refuses to leave the others and Ricochet considers knocking him out but they work it out and start plotting to escape.
Then they get cornered, he kisses Prowl and promises he'll come back and then him and the baby will be together. He also gives Prowl security codes and directions for how to get to a safe place. Prowl leads the survivors out and waits at the neutral camp.
Ricochet meanwhile is giving the Cons hell and does eventually get caught but refuses to give up info. Rather than risk it falling into enemy hands he sends out Jazz's recall signature and wakes him up. He tells Jazz he's getting what he wants and then deletes himself so there's no way anyone can get the info on the Praxians location.
Jazz manages to get out when the Autobots arrive and immediately goes to Ratchet his mind all sorts of a mess.
Prowl is left alone with the other Praxian refugees and assumes the worst. This is confirmed when he joins the Autobots (another story) and finds some Decepticon KIA reports that list Ricochet as dying in Praxus.
So the first story ends with Ricochet "dead", Jazz not knowing about Prowl and a mess with memories he can't quite recall and personality all wonky and massive headaches, and Prowl widowed and a single parent.
ok Tumblr is crap at notifying me when something is sent to my sideblog :/ sorry for the delayed reply!!
Absolutely love 💕💕 how this begins between Prowl and shell personality Rico - also super interesting that it's Rico who has the most awareness/control over the shared frame of Jazz and him. And poor Jazz!!! losing time and losing control! 🥺🥺😭
Fall of Praxus!! Crying at Rico deleting himself to protect Prowl and Bluestreak and the other praxians, I yelled out loud reading that! Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 oh nooooooo!!!!!! all the angsty feels here that can come from this (and if u dont know, i have a massive angst addiction)
Gosh poor Prowl too thinking Rico died and Jazz having no idea what's going on his mind is so fractured!!!
