Sub represents subconsciousness

And Beholder represents the drunken state where u get randomly honest with everyone and baaaalllll then throw up on the carpet

You asked for mouthwashing hc and this one may be out there, but I think Jimmy sees Swansea as the kind of guy he’s gonna end up as (derogatory.) he sees Swansea stuck in a job he hates and doesn’t feel appreciated in, and thinks they’re the same in that sense (Swansea may see this as well early on, hence why he pushes so hard against Jimmy when he becomes ‘captain’ in Curly’s absence. He sees them as the same kind of person, so why should Jimmy get to boss him around?). We see this similarity disintegrate over the course of the game, as Swansea is shown to be mean but good at his job and caring in the ways that really matter, and Jimmy is shown to be controlling and dangerous to the people around him. Jimmy thinks he’s above Swansea, and HATES that he’s likely gonna end up the same as him, angry and alone with a job he isn’t appreciated in/doesn’t find fulfillment in.

I think this is why Swansea plays such a huge roll as the anti-villain of the story, especially at the end. Even when he’s talking to Jimmy and admits that his happiest days were the ones where he was so drunk he couldn’t function, he ends the monologue by expressing a fondness for Daisuke and how much he wished the poor kid could have gotten out. Jimmy never expresses this kind of remorse. He is sorry, sure, but he never seems to look back at his actions and admit that he found pleasure in hurting others, and his only (shown) truely selfless action was putting Curly in the cryo-pod. As he was talking to Curly about it, he kept saying ‘We’, as in both him and Curly. He didn’t know how to wish well on someone without also wanting for himself, Hence the final cracks in the similarity between him and Swansea by the end.

One reason Anya chose to die in medway was because she wanted a type of comfort and peace, which she only really got form Curly; shown by how much she trusts him and how he's really the only one, until she tells Swansea everything which is only after the crash and Curly was bound to the medway bed

It's not canon, but I feel like it could be one motivator as to why she chose to die in medway and not in, say, her room

I bet that Curly felt bad bc he couldn't do anything and probably got many life regrets about not doing anything earlier
