Sweet Treats — ask Tamlin

Cupcake - how well can Tamlin cook and bake? It’s fair to say that Tamlin tends to rely on either his staff for well prepared food or the simplicity of nature for easy nutrition. While he knows more than enough to take care of himself and can provide a good experience at the dining table, it’s a task which he’s found tedious. That knowledge tends to come from a longer than average lifespan, rather than enthusiastic or genuine interest. He certainly won’t burn a kitchen down, but don’t expect him to eagerly jump in on the offer to bake a pie. However, he will be more than happy to supply a bounty of fruit offerings from his many hand-tended gardens.

Birthday Cake - how/when does Tamlin celebrate his birthday?

As a High Fae, Tamlin stopped celebrating his birthday every year when he turned eighteen. Although young adults do still reminisce over the day they were born, a yearly celebration can become tedious for a person with a nearly unlimited life span. He celebrates once every ten to fifteen years somewhere in the middle of April. His favorite way to spend his day is with close friends, his partner, and family. A day free of duty and schedule with time to frolic in nature and enjoy his special connection to her is his ideal plan. Any loved ones would know that as an introvert, his biggest nightmare is a surprise party. Thankfully, he can winnow away — a celebration with his people can be well enjoyed…all he’s asking for fair warning.

Tiramisu - what kind of layers does Tamlin have?

Tamlin is much more like a tree than a sweet treat. His layers are formed from social expectations, pain, personality, love, laughter, trauma, and tears. His outer shell gives the instant aura of calm and regal authority, but inside he truly appreciates a good joke and a quiet evening. His smiles are guarded and his speech is deeply regulated in public, but he has begun to lower his walls as he heals.

He finds the most happiness in solitude and nothing could change that; however, he has found close connections over the years. He considers Lucien Vanserra to be closer than a brother, and all three of the Archeron sisters to be his found family. Of nearly all he knows, they get the most chances to see him relaxed and at his best self.

His moral code is at the center of almost everything that he does; but, he does not care in general for rules or regulations. When trust is won, he is loyal to a fault and would lay his life on the line to protect others.
