I think Max, albeit calling Jack a 'cheap anime character', is the sort of person who would unironically like stuff like Sword Art Online and Bleach.

Jack would enthusiastically watch stuff like BeyBlade and Yu-Gi-Oh!, and get really worked up over it and shout "YEAH!" whenever the protagonist did something cool.
