im not caught up on the series, what did pidge do...?
pidge is essentially a reflection of the showrunner’s racism. she’s extremely hurtful towards the brown characters specifically—she doesn’t rag on shiro whatsoever and she doesn’t rag on keith, especially in earlier seasons. she’s done a lot of gross things that go beyond the boundary of friendly teasing and delve into bullying territory. she’s electrocuted lance (literally), called him ugly, made fun of his unrequited crush on allura alongside hunk even though he was visibly upset, and has just……overall never connected emotionally with him. she laughs when she cries over his family. she’s a privileged white teenage girl who treats lance the way the showrunners and writers believe should be treated, and it’s so very heartbreaking.
