"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're flirting with me." Liberty to Daniel
“So you’re both beautiful and intuitive,” Daniel looked up from the dish he was trying to prepare so he could both wink at her and pretend to check off items from an imaginary list. “If I didn’t know any better, I would say you’re the whole package.” He gave her the goofy, lopsided grin she had called cute earlier. He was absolutely flirting with her, of course. Anyone with eyes could see that. This was still being broadcasted on a major network, though, even if it was just a cooking show. He wanted to keep things as PG while as absurdly suggestive as he possibly could.
It took a lot of effort to try and ignore her presence. Daniel had never been so close to a girl this beautiful before - he was six feet away from the actual Miss Universe and it almost didn’t feel real. Even though he was currently living out a dream, so close to making every fantasy he ever had a reality, this was easily the most surreal day of his life. Not because he was competing in the top 7 of the most popular culinary competition ever, but because Miss Ethiopia was at his arms length. She so close that could he kiss her if he wanted to, but her face said that she actually wanted him to do that. It was hard for him not to look up at her every now and then and beam.
It was almost funny. There had been so many guest judges up until this point. Daniel had actually cooked for his literal hero and several other icons he had looked up to for so long. And yet? He had never been more determined to impress someone like he wanted to impress Liberty. His intentions had never been so clear. On a normal occasion, he’d worry about how others would perceive him, but today he didn’t care if everyone knew how weak he as for the girl before him. He had a feeling anyone would understand if they were in his shoes. It was hard to resist her after having already felt her smile at him while encourage his every few actions.
“I warn you, Miss Liberty, but cooking and flirting aren’t my only talent.” Daniel grinned. He was sure that the cameras subtly caught his actions, but he still only winked in the direction of the beauty queen. He leaned in closer to her, close enough to smell her perfume, and he was tempted to kiss her then. He knew it would cause a scandal, maybe even his early exit from the show, but the thought was so tempting. Somehow, though, Daniel managed to stay strong. “When we’re done filming, I can show you all the other things I have to offer.”
