1: What was the first thing that got you into the fandom?
i stumbled upon some youtube videos of the once-ler and it kind of snowballed from there. so yeah, the once-ler (and partially ted) got me into the fandom
5: Who is your favorite Once-ler?
i have yet to find something i dislike about him. he’s very sweet and has a heart of gold. he’s also really cute but you know how oncelers are…gomen i’m drawing a blank it’s 7 in the morning but if you’re not already following him, you’re missing out.
honorable mentions go out to sommy (which is a give in mean c’mon), bitter, twelve, and i hide in the shadows and watch paint-ler, billboard, and tv-ler a lot l >
10: What’s your headcanon for the Once-ler’s age?
going into the movie, i’d say he’s in his early twenties. an accurate guess would be twenty-two maybe? he’s just moving out of his mother’s house, so i doubt he’s terribly old
between the time he sold his thneed to the time his business took a nosedive, i see at least a five year time skip, making him around twenty-six or twenty-seven
as for his time in woe, that’s a solid forty or fifty years imo??
21: Which Once-ler would you “get it aaawwwn” with?
you gotta keep the bow tie on, man.only one of many
22: Pre-success Oncie or Greedy Once-ler?
i prefer vests over suits, but ive come to realize that most of the once-lers i admire here are suited.
but if we’re talking about canon once-ler i’m sticking with optimistic pre-douchbag entrepreneur thanks
26: What exactly do you love about the Once-ler?
aside from the obvious lanky body 10/10 would cuddle again, eyes so pretty i can see my future in them, soft hair i’d pay a lot of money to pet you, and wow congrats on that stupid freckled face, this is why i like the once-ler
i think he’s a very relatable character in different aspects. starting off with his drive to accomplish something he really wants. i mean, who hasn’t followed their dreams. it’s what people do.
he’s a young man just moving out of his mother’s house to discover the world, something nearly everyone does at some point in their life. not to mention his family isn’t very supportive of him. also relatable.
he experiences failure and success, again something that people just do. and he learns from his mistakes.
but i think the thing i like the most about the once-ler is, even though he didn’t sell his thneed at first, he still had a positive outlook on life and wasn’t put out by the fact that he was a failure. he tossed out his idea of entrepreneurship, went home, and made some goddamn pancakes instead of sulking around his tent. and if his charm and good looks aren’t what make the once-ler an admirable character, then his optimistic disposition makes up for it that’s a fact
