Because a multi-billion dollar company that has shown it can create masterpieces on their strongest console yet has rewarded years of patience and excitement with.... this.
I live in eternal agony.

Who is the most toughest opponents you've faced?
“While I didn’t get to face it myself directly, I did get to stare into the eyes of the legendary Giratina. What I saw was... terrifying.”
What career path would you have chosen if you never became the champion of Sinnoh?
“I’d be a professional food critic. Specializing in frozen treats.”

Child Headcanons (Older Cynthia)
Cynthia had her first children three years after the events of Platinum, having twins named Jason (named for her husband) and Diana (named in honor of her friend, Diantha).
Four years after this, she had her third child, Victor.
Jason is quiet and reserved, and inherited both of his parent’s love of books, lore and history. Unlike Cynthia, he is incredibly tidy and organized. He has long blonde hair, and bright green eyes.
Diana takes after her mother’s love of Pokemon training and battle, though a schism grows between them as she grows older. She is often compared to Cynthia both physically and by her capabilities, though Diana is far colder and holds more arrogance than her mother ever did. Though she is a prodigy by nature, the expectations put on her by the world have turned her bitter, and she harbors a great deal of resentment towards her mother; who is heartbroken once she learns of this fact. Despite this negative interaction with her mother, Diana adores her father, and constantly seeks his approval.
Victor is the youngest of Cynthia’s children, and is very much the typical Pokemon trainer. He likes adventures and seeing new things. He is also very much a mama’s boy.
